As of a 2/3/13 recheck, the prices have doubled! They go for $500... The Pentax Q is priced at its sensor size, you can get it with the 5-15mm zoom lens for $250 at the Best Buy website in black Q zoom kit or white Q zoom kit... Deal Ended: yellow Pentax K-01 w/40mm for $315 (DEAL ENDED)

We have a Deal Ended alert! After many days, the yellow Pentax K-01 with the 40mm XS pancake lens for $315 ended at Amazon.

As of a late Friday re-check the price returned to normal levels at $400... with the price jumping to $900 (!). Not sure if this suggests a price-error now or the previous price was an error that they didn't notice before or they jumped the price high to stop people from buying it. As far as I can tell, none of the previous $315 orders have shipped. If you purchased one of the $315 kits and it has shipped, please let us know in the comments or using the online contact form!

Pentax X-5 superzoom for $200

Speaking of superzooms, the Pentax X-5 superzoom is going for $200 again at Fry's Electronics (store pickup or online shipment). You must add to cart to see the $200 price. You don't have to login to see the price. If you have Amazon gift cards to spend, you can get it for $208 at Amazon by Amazon.

Speaking of Fry's, Friday is the day they release new weekly ads. At the camera and photo weekly ad page, they offer "Hot Prices" if you "Call Fry's to Reserve" on the Canon EOS-M, D-Rebel T4i, G1x. This appears to be an in-store only special, eg call your local store to reserve. Or something like that. Fry's promotions are high maintenance to keep up with, so the rest is DIY :)

Pre-order: 100 colors of the Pentax Q10 (4-6 weeks delivery)

Apparently Pentax is taking their 100 colors thing seriously! You can now order each and everyone of the 100 colors at Adorama. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Perhaps someone at Pentax will be dip them into their custom paint baths and then send them to you ;-)

If you have a near-term buy-interest in the yellow Pentax K-01 with the 40mm XS pancake lens, it has dropped from $325 to $315 it has up-ticked in price, going from $317 to $325 at Amazon by Amazon. Coldplay's Yellow not included! Blog-post updated: 1/4/13 at 12pm ET.

The yellow Pentax K-01 with the 40mm XS pancake lens continues to be offered for $317 at Amazon by Amazon itself. Given that the price continues for the fourth day in a row, the chances of this being a price-error are significantly reduced. Don't forge to also get "Yellow" by Coldplay, a good match for the camera ;-)

For the last few weeks, this has been the price for the body only. The kit with the 40mm XS typically went for $417+. The camera is temporarily out of stock, but you can place an order if you want to lock the price!

The prices have dropped to these levels during the Black Friday madness. Since then, they fluctuate, but between Amazon and B&H Photo and Adorama, you can get the Pentax K-01 body for $317~ or the with the 40mm XS pancake lens for $417~. These are available in multiple body colors. The K-01 is rather unique and not just because of its K-chunky looks. It is a mirrorless camera but uses the K-mount...
