With taxes finally done (don’t forget, Tuesday is the deadline for both the 2016 Tax Year and the first quarterly payment estimate for 2017), it is time to focus (pun intended) on the Stock Status Tracker. The bad news first, the Panasonic GH5 is out of stock at all the retailers I checked. The rest of the cameras tracked are good news for availability (bad news for your tax refund and/or wallet).

The Fuji X-T2 body only is back in-stock at Amazon by Amazon itself and a couple of 3rd-party sellers over there. The Prime-only restrictions are only for items sold and shipped by Amazon itself. 3rd-party sellers are happy to sell to anyone and everyone willing to pay 🙂 It is also in-stock at B&H Photo but note that orders will ship April 19+ even if you select overnight shipping!

The Canon 77D has been steadily in-stock every time I checked, the BuyDig bundle with a handful of accessories (3rd-party flash, converter lenses, filters ,bag, 64GB card, remote, and the usual assortment of trinkets (card reader, cleaning kit, microfiber cloth, air blower) included for the same price of $900.

+ USED (Like New Condition) for $1879 by Cardinal (via Amazon)
+ NOTE: ignore/AVOID those “Just Launched” sellers at Amazon that offer it for less. They are trolling/phishing for customer/financial data

+ NEW CONDITION but you can negotiate using eBay’s Built-In and Blessed “Best Offer” process by Pixel Connection (starting price is $2000)

M43rds Lens Instant Savings (32 options from Panasonic and Olympus)

System Switch Temptation: Buy Olympus M43rds Camera, Get Combined Purchase Stackable Discounts on UP TO Nine Olympus M43 Lenses

If you are thinking of switching to Micro Four Thirds or making a big lens purchase, there is a hot new combined purchase promotion at Amazon that offers stackable combined purchase discounts if you buy one of select cameras and up to nine different participating M43rds lenses.

Here is a screenshot of the shopping cart with one eligible Olympus M43rds camera (E-M5 II body) and the nine different Olympus eligible M43rds lenses. As you can see, there are nine different discounts, one for each lens. You can buy anywhere from one to nine lenses, and get a discount for each lens ~ purchased together with an eligible camera.

NOTE: ALL items must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, NOT by 3rd-party sellers if you want to get ALL the combined purchase discounts!

Buy One Of These Eligible Cameras

+ Olympus E-PL8 (all the colors and kit options are eligible, $550 to $650; six options)
+ Olympus E-M5 II body (black) for $900
+ Olympus E-M5 II body (silver) for $900
+ Olympus E-M1 body (black) for $1100
+ Olympus PEN-F Body (black) for $1200

Buy Up to Nine of these Lenses in SAME Shopping Cart

The combined purchase discount amount varies from $100 to $300 per lens, depending on which lens you select. Here they are, in discount order:

What DOESN’T WORK

+ items NOT sold by Amazon itself
+ buying more than one camera body in the same shopping cart won’t give you additional discounts
+ buying multiple units of the same camera won’t give you additional discounts
+ buying multiple units of the same lens won’t give you additional discounts (but the silver and black colors of the eligible lenses count as separate lenses for the sake of this promotion, so you can get one of each color)

PSA: AVOID Too Good To Be True “Just Launched” Amazon Sellers

It is human nature to be tempted by a deal that looks too good to be true, even if all the signs scream RED ALERT. Listen to those signs. An on-going scam at Amazon, that Amazon has not yet been able to block automatically, is “Just Launched” sellers offering high-demand electronics at a fraction of their price. They want you to pay them directly (which violates Amazon’s terms of service for sellers). Needless to say, you will never get the item and your personal and financial information will be at risk. Check various forums, people still fall for this crap and describe their adventures trying to sort this out. So to summarize, AVOID like the PLAGUE!

Here’s an example of the Olympus E-M1 II whose price is $2000 (or higher since it’s hard to find) at real retailers:

(ENDED) Refurbished Olympus M.ZUIKO 40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R for $148
