Last week the Sony a6000 body went on sale for $450 for a short time at Amazon, while its regular price was $550. This week, the “official” price has now dropped to $500 at various authorized Sony retailers that include a variety of freebies at BuyDig and Adorama and B&H Photo. The price is $500 at Amazon itself and others at Amazon but no freebies there.
The GetOlympus store has an intermediate level deal going on right now. Especially of interest if you live at the intersection of M43rds and Four Thirds… The camera is M43, the lenses are Four Thirds below…
If you purchase the Olympus E-M1 body only (Micro Four Thirds) together with either one of these two Four Thirds Lenses (Zuiko 35mm f3.5 or 50mm f2 macro), and the MMF-3 Four Thirds adapter, the price of the MMF-3 adapter will be deducted from your total. Flagship action too at the eBay Deals, where BuyDig’s eBay store (authorized Sony reseller) is offering the open-box Sony A7R II body only with a one year Sony warranty for $3000 [was $2700] with free shipping with a limit of five per customer.
The description there has it as “New-Other” condition with this explanation:
“This item includes all original packaging and comes with a full 1 Year Sony USA Warranty. Box was opened and simply not able to be sold as Brand New”

Lower prices simple prime lenses are one area where some photographers may feel more comfortable getting an imported model. If so, the eBay Deals has some of that too. The imported grey-market Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 goes for $270 with free shipping by eBay seller “QuickNDone” (99.8%). The listing mentions a one year warranty but does not say who provides the warranty.
Please note this ships from Canada, with USA and Canada as the official “ship-to” addresses mentioned in the eBay listing.
At authorized Olympus USA dealers, this lens goes for $350 at Adorama (free 3yr New Leaf warranty) and B&H Photo and Amazonia.
Adorama is running another Trade-In Promotion good until 10/31/15. You trade-in one digital interchangeable-lens camera or lens, and receive a trade-in bonus of up to $250, in addition to the trade-in value of your gear. The trade-in bonus can be used towards the purchase of a new Sony a7 series digital camera or full frame E-mount.
Per the short instructions there, you fill in the short form on their website. Then they give you a trade-in code. You use that towards the purchase the a7 series camera or FF E-mount lens of your choice. In parallel, you send them your old camera/lens you agreed to trade-in.

White box is often used to describe situations when a lens or something else is removed from a kit or a bundle and sold separately. PS: “broken kit” is a rather unfortunate term, how many consumers will get excited when they hear something they are about to buy described as “broken”? 🙂
