With Pentax, the release of a new flagship camera (at the moment the K-3 II for $900), often means bang for the buck deals can be found with the previous model. And it certainly looks so at the moment, you can get a nice “take pictures with” kit for $650 at Adorama that includes the K-3 body only (first generation), the 50mm f1.8 DA prime lens, and AF-200FG flash and 4% promotional rewards (= $26~). No coupons, no rebates, just add to cart and checkout.
The Pentax K-3 II body only is now going for $900 at B&H Photo and at Overstock.com (all apologies if the mere mention of that name start auto-playing the Overstock jingle in your head – after all, it’s just two months to Christmas 2015).

For early adopters who like to have the absolute flagship products, the official Microsoft Store is accepting pre-orders for the flagship Surface Book, the one with 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM and i7 processor and nVidia graphics and such. The pre-order price is flagship-y too, $3200, with a late January 2016 release estimate. In comparison, the 512GB SSD model goes for $2700 with a 7-8 weeks release estimate.
Of photography interest, the Surface Pen technology, the SSD, the 16GB RAM, the 1TB storage, the Core i7 processor, 3000 x 2000 resolution on a 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen, usable in laptop and tablet mode, and such.
