Meanwhile at the Woot dailies they have an Acer computer-y sale ($200 to $780) featuring monitors, and the $780 item is the Spin 5 Convertible laptop… They also have a Random Audio sale with speakers of all sizes and shapes…

We previously mentioned the Nikon Z50 2-lens kit offer for $1100, BUT if you are not interested in the basic zoom kit lenses, and you want a lower entry-price into the Nikon Z system, B&H Photo is offering the refurbished Z50 body only for $749 with free US shipping and a 90-day Nikon USA warranty…

HOWEVER, the refurbished version is not eligible for the Nikon-blessed offer of adding the Nikon FTZ mount adapter (Nikon F lenses to Nikon Z bodies) for just +$47 with new condition Z50 kits. So if you have no way of procuring an adapter for less then mayhaps you are better off going with the new condition kits…

… and given the prices of the new condition kits, the Z50 body only goes for $857 while the Z50 with 16-50mm goes for $897 (+$40 for the 16-50 lens which you can resell/trade/etc), you may be better off with the latter. With these kits, for +$47 you can add the Nikon FTZ adapter. That too you can resell/trade/etc if you don’t plan on using…

Friday: refurbished Canon SX720 HS compact-superzoom (40x) w/1yr warranty for $150

It’s not often we find a digital camera in the daily deals, but for Friday 7/17/20 we do so at the B&H daily deals [CORRECTED LINK]. It is red and refurbished and superzoom. It is the Canon SX720 HS going for $150. It comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty per the listing [under “Specifications”]…

It has a 40x optical zoom and it is a DiGiC 6 era camera. As the “HS” in the model name suggests, this is a CMOS camera, while the “IS” for those too young to have lived through CCD sensor P&S Canon cameras, was used for CCD Powershots.

It is fascinating how camera size is relative. A compact superzoom like this, yet one of the reviewers complained it was “too heavy” and “bulky”. Mayhaps they didn’t try the focal range with DSLR lenses? 🙂
