Pre-order new Canon 77D APS-C DSLR

In parallel with the new D-Rebel T7i, and just $150 away in price (for two out of the three kits), Canon has revealed a new model in their post-Rebel APS-C DSLR line-up. Seven is a theme, the new 24mp APS-C 77D is available for pre-orders in the usual three kits, with a late March 2017 release guestimate…

Also coming along for the ride with today’s announcement is the Canon BR-E1 Wireless Remote Control with a $45 pre-order price.

Speaking of eBay, the current featured Daily Deal there is the new condition Surface PRO 3 (i7, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, model PU2-00017) offered for $830 with free shipping by eBay seller “Always.Deals” (98%, New Jersey). Over 175 units sold so far per the listing over there.

Might as well turn this post into an eBay round-up. eBay seller “DigJungle” (99.2%, undisclosed USA location) is offering the new condition imported grey-market Canon 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS STM lens for $149 with free shipping. There is no mention of warranty in the listing, so assume there is none!

Used Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II VC for $269 + S&H (Nikon)

The older non-stabilized Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II goes for $300 in new condition at authorized dealers, with some free accessories (eg Adorama). However, if you want to get the stabilized version, the new condition price is $649. However (oh no, breaking the golden rules of writing, two Howevers in a row!), if you are comfortable with used lenses…

Adorama is offering the stabilized version of the lens (“VC”) in “Used – Excellent Minus” condition in the Nikon mount for $269 plus shipping (under $10 for most zipcodes), and in “Used – Demo” condition in the Canon mount for $299 plus shipping (under $10 for most zipcodes).

Adorama offers a 90-day warranty of their own on used items they sell on their website.

The used Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Di-II LD SP AF mentioned yesterday is long gone, but the new condition is available for a reasonable price for an f2.8 APS-C zoom lens, $300 gets you this lens in the four SLR systems (Canon, Nikon, Pentax Sony Alpha Minolta Dyxum Maxxum Kraxum).
