UPDATE 4/13/18 at 10:53pm ET: another update of the Stock Status Tracker finds that the body only is sold out, but there is one unit available of the a7 III with 28-70 FE for $2200 by Cardinal thru Amazon…
As of the time of writing, the new condition Sony a7 III body only is in-stock and shipping at Adorama for $2000 with free expedited shipping. Adding to the shopping cart also shows it as in-stock. Obviously I can’t complete the purchase just to test when it ships. They don’t take monopoly money I’m afraid 🙂
Meanwhile the previously mentioned eBay Auction has climbed to $2075, so unless you have eBay Monopoly money (eg lots of “eBay Bucks” or eBay or PayPal coupons or store credit?), it’s too high…
