Save the Date: 7/9/17 Giveaway Prize is Nikon D3400

Just like Black Friday starts a couple of weeks before the actual Black Friday, Prime Day seems to be extending backwards in time as well. Amazon is running daily giveaways in the run-up to Prime Day, and on Sunday 7/9/17 (one week before Game Of Thrones Season 7 begins), the giveaway will be the Nikon D3400 in black or red. This is shown in the Giveaway schedule in the Amazon app when you click on the giveaway notification.

A new update of the Stock Status Tracker has the Nikon D7500 with 18-140mm out of stock but getting closer at the discounted price of $1550 (Nikon’s original price was rather crazy at $1750).

Meanwhile the D7500 body continue is in-stock and ready to ship for its starting price of $1250 (actually, $1247 but I try to round numbers) at Amazon itself and Adorama and various eBay dealers.

… where the Buydig eBay store (99%, New Jersey) is offering the manufacturer refurbished Nikon D7200 body only for $650 with free shipping and a 90-day Nikon USA warranty. Limit five units per customer.

Strategically, this is not an unreasonable strategy. Once a model is no longer “the latest model”, going for a manufacturer refurbished ~ as long as it has a solid discount over the new-condition ~ is a good way to make the most of your $$$. As long as you are comfortable with refurbished and such.

Nikon D7500 with 18-140 drops to $1550

The update of the Stock Status Tracker also reveals that the Nikon D75000 with 18-140mm kit price has dropped by $200, now going for a more reasonable $1550 instead of $1750.

Unlike the In-Stock Body Only which is now in-stock and ready to ship, the D7500 with 18-140 is estimated to be in-stock later in the month. The price has dropped to $1550 at B&H Photo (June 27) and Adorama but not yet at Amazon

Another new elementproof/waterproof digital camera emerged, as these cannot be easily replicated by smartphones. It is the new Nikon Coolpix W300 P&S digital camera, available in three different colors, with a pre-order price of $390 at Amazon and B&H Photo.

This poor camera hasn’t even come out yet, and it’s getting trolled in yet another daily bloviation at The Verge 🙂

Nikon seems to love two lens kits these days, in another promotion, the Nikon D5600 with the 18-55 DX VR and 70-300 DX non-VR bundle is on sale for $900, that’s $200 more than the body only, and $100 more than the w/18-55 kit. But some retailers are also bundling it with some freebies. At Adorama you get the Corel software bundle, a Bower 58mm filter, a Lowerpro 160 Format bag, a 16GB Lexar SD card and a cleaning kit.
