With Pentax, the release of a new flagship camera (at the moment the K-3 II for $900), often means bang for the buck deals can be found with the previous model. It’s raining new lenses as we get closer to the holiday shipping season (don’t look now, Black Friday is not that far away). Sigma has revealed a new 20mm f1.4 ART SLR lens, with a pre-order price of $900 and available in the Nikon F-mount and Canon EF-mount and Sigma SA mount. The release estimate is November-December-ish 2015.

At authorized dealers, Canon has a new promotion running between October 11 in 2015 and January 9 in 2016. Select products (the ones mentioning they are eligible for this on their product pages) will receive 13-months of Canon’s CarePak Plus services, offering 13 months of Damage Protection and Priority service. You have to manually activate the offer after you make an eligible purchase.

When it comes to the Canon 7D Mark II, the decision is more tricky between refurbished with one year warranty VERSUS brand new at authorized dealers. So let me present to you the options, and as usual, “we blog, you decide/deride” 🙂
At the refurbished Canon USA store sales, the 7D Mark II body only goes for $1200, while the 7D Mark II with 18-135mm goes for $1450. They come with a one year Canon USA warranty.
