Pentax Lenses and Flash Sale (25 items, Primes, Zooms)

It’s K-time at B&H Photo, a total of 25 Pentax Lenses and Flashes are participating in a Limited Time Sale. Lenses include primes and zooms, such as the 70-200 f2.8 ED DC AW D FA* for $1700. Seven of the lenses are “Limited Edition”. Two flashes and a converter are also participating, along with pancake, macros, zooms, and more. Prices range from $110 (50/1.8 DA) to $2000 (150-450 f4.5-5.6 DC AW D FA LALALALALA).

Also participating is the f2.8 zoom trio, in addition to the aforementioned 70-200, they have the 16-50mm f2.8 for $830 and the 50-135 f2.8 for $860. Find them all at the Limited Time Sale.

DiscountMags adds Digital-Only Subscriptions: Shutterbug for $9/yr, Smart Photography for $6.68/yr; also some Printed Mags get Digital Content

The weekend is upon us and with it we have another Weekend Magazine Sale at DiscountMags, now with a new addition. In addition to printed magazines, they are also offering digital subscriptions (redeemed through the Zinio service/app). Digital subscriptions mention this in the listings (Digital) and have a “Powered by Zinio” with a “?” explainer. Here’s a screenshot of a digital one:

Some Printed Magazines now include Digital content
Another new feature at DiscountMags is that a subset of the Printed magazines now include Digital content to go with it. The eligible magazines mention this with the “Digital Download Included” in their section. You can use your browser’s in-page search feature to search for that phrase. Pop Photo is not eligible for this, but other non-photography magazines are, here’s a screenshot for Wired:

Digital content varies by magazine. For example, Wired offers this using their own Wired app (iPad, Nook, Kindle Fire [not sure why they don’t have a Google Play option]). ESPN offers ESPN Insider access, and such. Check each magazine of interest to see what and how they offer this.

PS: I haven’t tried any of the digital options yet, so I don’t know how they work. If you have any existing subscription, it may also be eligible if the offer is available through the publisher’s website. Simply follow the instructions as given by the magazine’s website.

MyBestBuy Early Access sale: Nikon Coolpix S33 for $120, Etc

Best Buy is running another special sale, this time though the offers get revealed depending on your Rewards Level. 128GB Lexar CompactFlash Pro 800x UDMA7 for $80, 256GB for $160, 512GB for $300

On the Lexar front, their 128GB CompactFlash Professional 800x UDMA7, model LCF128CRBNA800, is currently on sale for $80 with free shipping at B&H Photo and Amazon itself (limit 5) and Adorama where the 256GB version has the same price per GB as the 128GB ($160). But in terms of GB/$, the 512GB version defeats its line-up siblings at $300.

PRO TIP: since storage capacities are in multiples of two, you don’t have to do the actual math to figure out which one has the best price per GB. Simply see if the price of the next/previous items is twice/half than the current.

64GB Sony Class 10 UHS-1 SDXC (up to 70MB/s) for $15

We just updated the Stock Status Tracker and the situation remains good for photographers looking for the Pentax K-1, Nikon D500 and Canon 1D X II official kits. All of them are in-stock at their normal prices at multiple authorized dealers.
