Prime members get free unlimited photo storage, but not unlimited everything storage. So if you are a Prime member and mostly need photo storage space, you don’t need this service. On the other hand, if you also need lots of storage space (more than 5GB) for documents, videos, music files (not purchased from Amazon), and other non-photo files, then this might be of interest.
