Weekly Fry’s Promo Code Offers: $89 Mystery Elph (20mp, 12x optical), Vanguard, Lowepro, Wolverine, etc

Don’t look now, but Black Friday 2016 is less than 51 weeks away already. Just around the corner 🙂 And with that, we have a new shopping week, which brings us a new round of weekly promo code offers for Fry’s email newsletter subscribers (free to join their email list). Some of the offers are online-only, others are in-store-only, others are both. This is marked next to each offer in their weekly ad that covers the Dec 6-12 (2015) period. Fry’s Half-Week Promo codes: refurb ZS35 for $99, Manfrottos, mystery Elph

A lot of brick and mortar retailers split their weekly ads in two on ThanksGiving week. The conventional weekly ad typically covers Sunday through Wednesday night, and the other one is of course the Black Friday ad. Fry’s has posted their half-week (Sun AM to Wedn PM) weekly ad on their website and it includes these camera and photo items (these require unique promo codes that are included in each person’s email subscription to the Fry’s e-mail newsletters):

YMMV: $20 off Shutterfly with coupon code with Discover credit card statement or Panera Rewards

Don’t send your Discover credit card statement straight to the shredder! In this month’s statements delivered by mail, you may have a coupon for $20 off a $20+ order at Shutterfly. The coupon code is unique per customer from the looks of it (long winded blend of letters and numbers). This is a colorful 4×6 inch type of a coupon included in the envelope, it is not on the actual statement. I don’t know if this is included in every statement or only some. Shipping is additional. Redemption instructions are included on the back of the coupon. Expires 12/28/15.

UPDATE: a similar offer may be available through the Panera Rewards program. This may (have) arrive(d) in an email titled “a holiday surprise for you!”. It’s a $20 off $20+ as well, with a 12/29/15 expiration date. The coupon code is a long combination of letters and numbers which typically means it is unique to each person.

10% off Stacksocial with coupon (limited time)

Stacksocial has a limited time and limited redemptions coupon. Coupon FIRST10 gets you 10% off a number of items including the following. The coupon expires after the first 1000 successful redemptions. Eligible items are:

+ Hollywood Art Institute Photography Course & Certification for $25 before coupon
+ Code Black Drone with HD Camera for $80 before coupon
+ 3-in-1 Smartphone Photography Lens Set for $20 before coupon

+ DJI Phantom 2 for $540 before coupon ($540 – $54 = $486)

New BorrowLenses Gear Rental coupons

BorrowLenses has two new coupons in the run-up to Black Friday. Coupon BLBF20 gets you 20% off your rental or coupon code BF7FREE gets you seven more days on a rental lasting seven or more days. The rental period must start by Friday, December 4th. The coupons are good for renting gear, not purchasing gear.

Groupon Coupon: 20% off Local (eg Photo Prints related), 5% off Goods (eg Camera related)

Groupon has a new coupon code for their website, code TASTY3 gets you 20% off Local Deals or 5% Goods. “Local Deals” is where a lot of the photo-print related items are (custom photo books, canvas prints, metal prints, custom-print gifts, etc), while “Goods” is where their Camera Gear lives… You can also use the search bar over there to look for items of interest, eg “photo books” or “metal prints”… You can also use the category filters on their menu bar or left sidebar…

The coupon is good for one unit per transaction (eg one custom-photo-book), and you can use it on up to three different local offers and up to three Goods offers. Maximum discount is $50. Free shipping with orders of $34.99 or higher (they must ship from Groupon facilities, so not all purchases qualify towards free shipping – similar to what Amazon does).

Coupon expires at the end of day on Tuesday 11/17/15.

Adorama Clearance sale with coupon (item prices range from $1 to $9 each)

And now we have the return of the $5 Gadget, in fact, the items in this offer range from $1 to $9 each when you use coupon code NOVDECSALE at the Adorama Clearance Sale. The clearance is organized by after-coupon price, so you can check all the $1 or $2 or $3 or … $9 items. The prices you see there drop to their after-coupon prices after you enter the coupon during checkout.

Think of this as a virtual thrift store sale. A lot of items are manufacturer branded, for example, cases/bags for older P&S digital cameras, straps, cables, filters, and other small things. Lots of camera cases, maybe about half of the items offered.

Free $25 VISA Gift Card with Wacom Graphics Tablet of $100+ regular price

Among the latest Staples coupons (page down to locate it, see screenshot crop below), you can receive a $25 prepaid VISA Gift Card when you buy a Wacom Intuos Graphics tablet with a regular price of $100 or more. The eligible tablets mention this promotion on their individual listings. Offer ends 11/14/15.

Long post, more after the break…

Wedn: 11% off at NewEgg with VISA Checkout (max savings $11)

NewEgg is also jumping on the Singles Day bandwagon with a VISA Checkout promotion. Pay for your order with VISA Checkout, use promo code VCOSINGLE15 and get 11% off your order total, but with a maximum discount of $11. In other words, up to an order of $100. If your order total is over $100, the discount is a flat $11. Offer ends at 3am ET on Thursday or earlier if “promo funds are exhausted” (whatever that means).

BuyDig: $25 off $50+ order if you pay with VISA Checkout

BuyDig has a limited time and limited redemptions promotions. You can get $25 off an order of $50+ if you pay with VISA Checkout. Use coupon code VISAVET25 for that. The coupon is good for the first 10,000 redemptions. It expires 11/18/15 or earlier if the 10K redemptions are met. If you don’t have a VISA Checkout account, you can sign up for one (it is free). More details over there.

Strategically, these type of deals are good for gear that have the same prices at authorized dealers, so a general purpose discount is one way to get a discount on them.

PS: more posts coming in about two hours. Plus we have to start doing our Black Friday Ad Digests (those will go on the main blog since they won’t fly off the main page over there).

20% off Groupon Local includes many Photo Print Offers (custom books, canvas, wood, metal, etc)

The Groupon website has another 20% off coupon on Local Deals, with coupon SAVE20 with a limit of up to three deals per customer. Maximum discount with this coupon is $50.

Local Deals are of interest to photographers because a lot of the Photo Prints (custom books, posters, canvas, photo gifts, etc). Search for keywords of interest, or filter by Local under various sub-categories (Personalized, Shopping, etc) are under Local Deals. If you are not familiar with their website structure, check the annotated screenshot crops at the bottom of our earlier post.

Speaking of Groupon, for a limited time, it’s coffee time, Pay $10, Get $15 Starbucks Gift Card by email. Limit one per customer. It’s the closest I can get to buying each one of our readers a cup of coffee 🙂 [it arrives within minutes in your Groupon account and you can easily transfer this from Groupon to an existing Starbucks gift card by just clicking through – if you don’t want multiple gift cards in your account]

20% off Photography e-books with coupon

Good until the end of November 2015, coupon code categorysalecp gets you 20% off Photography e-books, along with e-books that fall under the Art, Computers, Nature, and Self-Help categories at eBooks.com. Use the categories in the left hand side of their website to find these categories, or use your in-browser search feature to look for “photography”. It will find it after you type “pho”, you don’t even have to type the whole thing.

PS: as with many category-based sales, eligible items are what their computer thinks belong to those categories. There could be false-positives and false-negatives. I can’t check the coupon on every one of the 4000+ photography e-books they have over there. They are available in ePUB or PDF. They have DRM. You can also read them in a web browser.

+ 50% off Photo Orders of $10+ with coupon code ALLTHINGS50 including prints, wood panels, canvas prints, photo gifts (mugs, postcards cards, magnets, totes, etc)

Tuesday: 15% off at Monoprice site-wide with coupon

If you are a fan of Monoprice products (be it accessories or their ever-increasing “real products” including computer monitors and such), coupon code OCT15 gets you 15% off at the Monoprice website. This applies to Monoprice-branded products, which is the vast majority of what they carry.

Featured items are shown on that page, or you can use the search box or navigate to the various camera and photo related categories.

Coupon is good for Tuesday October 27 (2015) only, in the pacific time zone since Monoprice is Southern California based but they also have a new warehouse facility in Kentucky to help with faster deliveries to the East Coast. The usual coupon restrictions apply (not good on Tamron lenses, not good for their 3D printer, and not for manufacturers that prohibit retailers from coupon discounting, etc).

Their website is redesigned again, so some parts may look different since the last time you may have visited. Some zipcodes may qualify for $7 Next Business Day flat-rate delivery, but not all of them (I can’t try hundreds of zipcodes). Nevertheless, having a shipping fee moving target is kinda frustrating to a shopper. The internets have shown that they prefer a predictable shipping fee, preferably free for all (eg the eBay Daily Deals), but if not, a fixed threshold (eg Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Groupon, etc) so you can plan ahead and such.

Canon Pixma MG6620 AiO Printer for $50 w/free S&H w/coupon

The Canon Pixma MG6620 Wireless Color Photo All-in-One Inkjet Printer (Black) can be yours for $50 with free shipping when you enter coupon code EMCMK2X7P5 at BuyDig.com. This is a limited time coupon offer (I don’t know when it expires)… This printer averages 3.9 out of 5 based on 340+ reviews at Amazon

Groupon Coupon: 5% off Goods (camera gear) and 20% off Local Deals (includes various Photo Prints offers)

You are not having a deja vu. This is a new promotion! Coupon code SCREAM3 gets you 20% off Local Deals and 5% off Groupon Goods offers at Groupon. The coupon code expires on 10/27/15 at the end of day.

The coupon is limited to one unit per transaction. During this promotional period, you can use the coupon on up to three Local Deals and up to three Goods offers. The maximum discount is $50 per transaction. Some exclusions apply (I haven’t memorized them …yet).

Camera and photo gear are under the Electronics section of Groupon Goods, so they are eligible for 5% off with the SCREAM3 coupon.

On the other hand, many of the photo print offers (canvas prints, custom photo books, wood and metal prints, custom photo gifts (mugs, phone cases, etc)) are under the Local Deals, so they would be eligible for 20% off with coupon SCREAM3. How they were coded in the system is what determines the discount, so it’s possible that the logical category does not match the physical category. Their shopping cart is the ultimate decider…

While finding Goods (camera gear) offers is fairly simple, finding the various photo-print offers under Local Deals is a bit more tricky. If you are not familiar, start at the Groupon Home page, then click on the “Local” option in the menu bar up top. The local links vary depending on each person’s city, so I can’t create general-use local links.

Many of the photo print offers are located under the “Personalized” sub-category of Local. Some are under “Shopping”. Photography-related classes are under “Online Learning”.

Ends 10/31/15: up to $250 Trade-In Bonus towards Sony a7* or FE lenses

Running until 10/31/15, Amazon has a Sony Trade-In Bonus Promotion that can be applied towards the purchase of select Sony a7* kits or FE lenses. The complete list of eligible cameras and lenses is shown over there.

The “bonus” part of the trade-in is this: in addition to the actual trade-in value of the camera gear you will send them in, you will also receive a promotional code that gets you $45 to $250 off the purchase of the aforementioned Sony a7* cameras or FE lenses. In general, the higher the price of the item, the bigger the promo code discount. For example, the a7S body only gets $250 off, while the 28mm f2 gets $45 off. You receive promo codes for all 17 eligible items. You can use each promo code once. Applies only to items sold and shipped by Amazon herself (not 3rd-party sellers).

The workflow of this trade-in (based on the promotional page (I haven’t done this)) is this:

STEP #1: locate the camera(s) or lens(es) you want to trade-in. The promotional page has big pictures for eligible “Digital SLRs” or “Mirrorless Cameras” or “Lenses”. Once you hit one of those links, you will see eligible products. You don’t have to go through them page by page. The Amazon search box over there morphs into a trade-in search box, so it will only show you eligible items. So, for example, you don’t have to go through 500+ DSLR kits to see if yours is eligible.

sony_tradein_amazon

STEP #2: select the camera you want to trade-in and follow the steps. It’s easy actually. You click the yellow “Trade-In” button and it shows you price ranges depending on the condition. Your trade-in amount will be adjusted if when they receive it, their evaluation of the item’s condition differs from your own. Even so, you have some control, you can pre-select whether you want them to return the item to you for free, or automatically accept the lower price. (if the price is higher, they’ll obviously give you a bigger trade-in amount). The trade-in amount will be sent to you in an Amazon Gift Card, not a cold-hard-cash check/cheque.

STEP #3: if you accept the offer, you ship your old camera/lens to Amazon for FREE using their printable shipment labels. About 7-10 business days after, you will receive via e-mail the promotional codes that go towards the purchase of Sony a7* or FE lenses. The promotional codes are pre-determined amounts ($45 to $250) depending on which Sony item you buy in the future. These amounts are not linked to the value of your old used traded-in gear.

STEP #4: after your old used trade-in gear is received by Amazon, and their condition evaluated, you will receive an email with their findings, and if accepted by them, you will receive your trade-in value in an Amazon electronic gift card (this is a never-expiring Amazon gift card, not a promotional code).

STEP #5: you can use both the promotional bonus codes ($45 to $250) and your trade-in gift card towards the purchase of a Sony camera or FE lens. This is optional. You don’t have to buy anything. But obviously you can’t undo the trade-in once it is submitted and accepted by Amazon and it survives your “lower condition” conditional choice in Step #2.

STEP #6: as you can see, I can only write short posts or sprawling posts, there’s no middle ground 🙂

DEADLINES: The promotion expires 10/31/15. The promo codes expire 11/7/15.

You can’t use the regular Amazon website for PrimeNow orders. Sicne it is local delivery within 2 hours, you can only purchase items available at your local Amazon warehouse. Only items sold and shipped by Amazon actual are eligible. I haven’t used this service yet, but I will try to do so over the weekend, so I will have a mini-report for you early next week.

Amazon has so many different sub-programs, it can get very confusing. PrimeNow is a different program from the Prime Same Day Delivery feature (with orders of $35+). I am working on a post to help sort out all the Prime features, but they keep adding/changing things every time I sneeze 🙂
