More action on the video front from Canon. Their new Cinema C300 Mark II is now available for pre-orders in the body only configuration for $16,000 in either the EF mount or the PL mount at B&H Photo. Availability is estimated to be September 2015. It is also available for pre-order at Adorama.
In parallel, Canon revealed the new XC10, a 1″ sensor fixed-lens camcorder with a 10x optical zoom lens, going for $2500 with a June 2015 release estimate at B&H Photo.
The new 50mp full framer Canon 5DS* DSLRs are now available for pre-order for $3700 (5DS) and $3900 (5DS R) respectively. Pre-orders are accepted at:

On the Canon APS-C dSLR front, the new condition Canon 60D body only is currently on sale for $480 with free shipping at B&H Photo. That’s four-hundred and eighty ($480). No coupons needed. Limit five per customer during this promotion.
B&H Photo has a sale on the Canon 7D DSLR kits! This is a while supplies last type of a promotion! These are new condition with the usual Canon USA warranty:

BuyDig.com has Canon 6D bundles, which require mail-in rebates (prepaid American Express gift card). You have to add to the shopping cart to see the sale prices (you don’t need to login). You get the Canon 6D (body or with 24-105), the Pixma Pro 100 printer, 50pk of Canon 13×19 photo paper, 32GB card and camera case.
For the Canon 6D body only bundle the price displayed on the page is $1798 before rebate (and $1548 after rebate). After you add it to the shopping cart, the price before rebate is $1579. When you submit/receive the $250 MIR, it will become $1329 after MIR.
A similar offer is available for the 6D with 24-105 bundle with the after add-to-cart and after MIR price of $1830.
These in-cart discounts expire 3/8/15. The mail-in rebate promotions continue per Canon’s schedule.
The previous round of Canon mail-in rebates ended on 2/28/15. The camera rebates were not carried forward, but the price of the Canon 5D Mark III body only officially dropped to $2500 (without rebate) at various authorized dealers such as Amazon and Adorama (page down to see all the bundles with various free accessories).
However, if you don’t mind mail-in rebates, and you have use for a Pixma printer and photo paper, you can get a lower after mail-in rebates if you do one of the bundles. At B&H Photo your price is $2250 after a $250 mail-in rebate (prepaid American Express gift card) with the 5D Mark III body only and Pixma Pro 100 and 50pk Canon 13×19″ photo paper and camera bag and 32GB SD and extra Watson battery. The page goes into an unfiltered discussion of MAP pricing, which, even if not interested in the camera, makes for an interesting read 🙂 Thanks to one of our readers for the alert!
The new Canon 5DS DSLR duo is the biggest and most expensive new camera of 2015 so far. However, pre-orders are not accepted just yet. Amazon’s estimate says you will be able to pre-order it on 4/30/15. B&H Photo’s page estimates the camera will be available in June 2015. Adorama has a June estimate as well. Needless to say, this is too early, more details and more specifics will become available as we get closer to actual release. In a tech world of near-instant gratification, waiting for months before one can pre-order can feel a bit unusual.
The new Canon D-Rebel T6s and T6i dSLRs already have pre-order deals. If you pre-order one of the Canon T6s kits or one of the Canon T6i kits, within 72 hours after shipment of the camera (shipment, not order), a $50 promotional credit will be automatically applied to your Amazon account. The promotional credit can only be used towards the purchase of these these accessories (16GB or 32GB or 64GB Sandisk Extreme SDHC, AmazonBasics camera bags and tripods). Canon has announced and made available for pre-order a number of photography related products at CES 2015. They have three new superzooms, headlined by the SX-530-HS with 50x optical for $430, SX-710-HS with 30x optical for $350, the SX-610-HS with 18x optical for $250. They also have the Elph 170 IS for $150 and Elph 160 for $110. Also in are new Vixia camcorders, a couple of printers, and the Connect Station CS100 (NFC, Wifi, USB, SD, CF). All these are now available for pre-ordering at Adorama and Amazon.
If of all the Canon D-Rebel options out there, it is the D-Rebel T5 the one you want, the two lens kit, with the 18-55 and 75-300mm lenses along with a free camera bag and free SDHC memory card is going for $500 at Amazon by Amazon itself (limit 3) and B&H Photo.
