Chatter of the death of APS-C as a serious photography format got squelched today by Nikon as they revealed their brand new APS-C flagship camera, the new D500, with a pre-order price of $2000 for the body only. To further stress their seriousness in its seriousness, they are also releasing a D500 kit with the 18-60mm f2.8-4E ED VR lens for $3070. These are available for pre-order right now as follows:
