The biggest news of yesterday’s 2018 Apple event taking place in Tim Cook’s new favorite city is that *gasp* the beloved iPad Mini 4 continues to be in the line-up as an active and “latest” model 🙂
On a more serious note, Apple revealed a handful of new products, a total of over 90 SKUs (when colors, storage, etc options are factored in). The new products include a promising upgrade of the 11″ and 12.9″ iPad PROs with USB-C [good thing I stopped buying accessories at 30-PIN ;-)] with prices starting at $800 for the 11-inch model and $1000 for the 12.9-inch and go as high as $1900.
Also arriving is the highly anticipated Retina MacBook Air with prices starting at $1200 and going up to $2600. All these come with on-board SSD ranging from 128GB to 1.5TB and either 8 or 16GB of RAM.
Last but not least, the most numerous of the new products with over 50 SKUs is the new MacBook Mini with prices ranging from $800 to $4100.
So if one wants to buy one of each, at the entry-point model, that’s $2800. On the other hand, if you want to buy the flagship of each product, that’s $8600. Still less than a decent used CR darling Honda Accord 🙂
