Amazon Cash is yet another Amazon service, open to everyone (not restricted to Prime members) that allows you to load up your Amazon account using cold hard cash. To do this, you visit various participating Amazon Cash brick and mortar stores, such as CVS, Game Stop, 711s, and such. You hand the cashier cash and it gets loaded to your Amazon account within seconds.
To encourage more people to use this service, Amazon is running a new Amazon Cash loading promotion running until February 28 in 2018. You must do FOUR separate Amazon Cash loading transactions during this time period, and your load total must be $100 or more. The promotion started January 1st.
You must visit four times, even if you load $100+ on the first time. Basically part of the hook of this promotion is habit training. It gets us used to visit stores and load the Amazon account. You can only use cash to load up your Amazon Cash account. You cannot use credit cards.
If you do this, you will receive a $20 promotional Amazon store credit, which you must use by March 31st in 2018. The promotional credit can be used on products sold and shipped by Amazon itself (not 3rd-party sellers). Their shopping cart will tell you what’s eligible once the $20 promotional credit is added to your account.
If you are not familiar with it, here’s the FAQ page. There are no fees for the service. The minimum load amount is $15, so factor that in your planning for the four visits. The stores don’t have coin counting machines, so probably not a good idea to show up with a big jar of coins 🙂 [use Coinstar locations instead – no fees for gift cards].
More details on how this works over there. It requires a bar code you can print or show on your screen (eg phone). I’ve done this once in the past, it worked as expected.
