For a limited time (expires by the end of day on 11/26/14), Amazon.com has a new offer: purchase a $100+ Amazon.com Camera electronic Gift Card (e-mail delivery) and receive a $25 promotional credit in your account to spend on select DSLR/mirrorless cameras in the future. Detailed terms and conditions can be found at the aforelinked pages.
Gift Card vs Promotional Credit
The $100+ Amazon Camera Gift Cards can be used on any purchase at Amazon.com (they brand gift cards in different ways, for example they sell Kindle Gift Cards but you can use them for any purchase). They never expire.
The $25 promotional credit will be added to your account within 24 hours of purchasing the $100+ electronic Amazon Camera Gift card and Amazon.com will send you an email notifying you that the $25 credit has been added to your account. The $25 promotional credit can only be used towards the purchase of select DSLR kits (over 250 options) and select mirrorless kits (over 230 options). The promotional credit expires on 1/31/15 if not used. Limit one $25 promotional code per customer. 1-Click purchases are not eligible. You can verify the promotional credit is in your account by adding a qualifying camera and advancing to the Checkout page – you should see an option to use or not use the promotional credit towards the purchase.
STRATEGERY
This offer makes sense if you are planning to purchase one of those DSLRs or mirrorless camera kits between now and 1/31/15. You buy the $100+ email Gift Card. Within 24 hours, the $25 promotional credit will be applied to your Amazon.com account. Then you can buy the DSLR/mirrorless kit of your choice and apply both the $100+ Gift Card and $25 Promotional Credit towards the purchase price (and any other payment methods available in your account).
Especially if you haven’t participated in similar offers before, be sure to thoroughly read the terms and conditions, they explain this offer very well.
If what I wrote above doesn’t make sense, please leave a comment or use the online contact form. I caught the GRRM bug and everything I write sprawls and sprawls and sprawls 🙂
