AmazonBasics camera bags discounted (limit 3 each for on-sale items)

I’m not sure exactly when the discounts happened, but I was just looking at the best selling camera cases at Amazon, and some of their house brand “AmazonBasics” are discounted. Their Sling Backpack goes for $25 each (limit 3), while their top-selling Backpack for SLR/DSLRs goes for $30 (limit 3) and averages 4.6 out of 5 based on over 2300 customer reviews. They come in frustration-free packaging, so no fighting shrink-wraps or other packaging annoyances. Meanwhile their large DSLR gadget bag goes for $21.50 each (limit 3), while their holster goes for $16 each (limit 30).

Speaking of Amazon, if you are planning to place an order of $25 or more ($35+ if you want free shipping as a non-Prime member), you can get this eForCity leather hand grip for $4.20 each (that’s the actual price!). This is part of the Add-On program, so the shopping cart won’t allow you to buy it unless your order total is $25 or more. Regardless of Prime membership status. You can buy as many of these as you like. They average 3.5 out of 5 with nearly 600 customer reviews, so there are trade-offs.

I can vouch for the quality and usefulness of the Amazon Basics large DSLR bag. Materials, fit and finish are all topnotch, and there’s enough room for a body with lens and two, maybe three, lenses, depending on the size of the lenses. If you pack ILC’s, you can fit two bodies and lenses, plus other stuff. IOW, enough room to be really useful. At the regular price it’s an excellent value. At $21.50 it’s charity.

BTW, gadget bags are typically the highest-markup items in a retail camera store or department. Find a close equivalent to this one in a store and be prepared for serious sticker shock when you see the price.

    • indeed! especially if the camera bags intersect with style and fashion, then they sell more like a fashion accessory than a bag to put gear in!
