DiscountMags is launching an Oktoberfest Magazine Sale that offers photography magazines in either print or digital. The print is the usual, printed glossy magazines delivered by mail. The digital is using the Zinio magazine app. The price is $5 per magazine per year for all of them, including “Digital Photo PRO” which rarely gets to this annual price. They are:
+ PRINT: Digital Photo PRO, Outdoor Photographer, Pop Photo, Digital Photo (non-PRO)
+ ZINIO DIGITAL: Digital Photo PRO, Outdoor Photographer

This is a nice offer. As a public service to fellow owners of a 2015 Kindle Fire 7″ tablet who might want to use Zinio’s alleged app for that tablet, get the paper version. If you want to read your magazine and not deal with atrocious software that will insist your tablet’s time setting is wrong and, at times, that your tablet has no SD card, or the SD card is not inserted properly — and God know what other idiotic nonsense — so you never get to log on to read what you paid for, DO NOT go for the digital edition. It might be handy. It might be fun. But you will never know. What you will get to do is undertake a futile effort to elicit some small shred of help from one of the absolute lamest alleged support persons on the planet.
Fortunately for me, I have other means of reading the magazines I got trial subscriptions for, but less handily than with the Kindle I had hoped to use. All other Kindle apps that will download to it work fine.
