(ENDED) Live-Tweeted the Nokia and Samsung MWC Press Conferences

These events ended but you can find them archived on YouTube if interested (just search for the relevant keywords, Nokia MWC 2018, etc)…

The Nokia and Samsung Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 live-streams are over! You can relive them on YouTube and/or re-live my live-tweeting/live-trolling of them. Unfortunately there’s no way to sync the video playback with the tweets (or at least I don’t know how to do that).

The Sony event will stream at 2:15am eastern on Monday, I may have to drink a lot of coffee for that one ?, so YMMV.

UPDATE (SAMSUNG): Samsung revealed the S9 and S9+ duo and for the first time there is a split on the cameras. Only the slightly larger S9+ is getting the dual cameras. Samsung made repeated points that their new cameras will fix the low-light photography and action blur issues of today’s smartphones. They also gave the average consumer watching the live stream an “ELI5” on aperture as they touted the variable aperture of the S9s. Also took multiple jabs at Apple and Google with their microSD card and headphone jack advantage 🙂 Pre-ordering begins on Friday March 2nd at 12:01am (that’s just five days away).

UPDATE (NOKIA): coming in April/May from NOKIA are three new Android phones with Zeiss cameras/lenses, the Nokia 8 Sirocco flagship (749 euro; OUCH), the Nokia 7 Plus (399 euro) and the Nokia 6. Also coming entry-level Android GO “Nokia 1” and the return of another feature phone classic, the Nokia 8110 in the iconic Nokia yellow, which the Nokia guy accidentally called “Blue Banana” and created a new MWC meme 🙂
