Speaking of Fry's, Friday is the day they release new weekly ads. At the camera and photo weekly ad page, they offer "Hot Prices" if you "Call Fry's to Reserve" on the Canon EOS-M, D-Rebel T4i, G1x. This appears to be an in-store only special, eg call your local store to reserve. Or something like that. Fry's promotions are high maintenance to keep up with, so the rest is DIY :)

Jan 20-26/2013: Free after Easy Rebate: 50pk Staples 8.5x11 double sided matter photo paper

For the shopping week of January 20-26 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 50pk of Staples branded 8.5x11 double sided matte photo paper for FREE after an Easy Rebate. You pay $15 plus tax in-store, submit the Easy Rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive $15 back. You can select how to receive the $15 when you submit the rebate online. In previous offers of this paper, the options were a prepaid VISA gift card or a check by mail (postcard-thick check, it won't fit into ATMs - might be of interest if you do ATM banking only - you can also deposit it at the branch, or by mail, or using your bank's mobile or desktop apps or using the bank's drop off boxes). This is a limit two for the Jan 20-26/2013 shopping week.

Also good during the Jan 20-26/2013 week is a Buy-1-Get-1-Free promotion on Epson photo paper. This is a straight up offer. No coupons, no rebates, no rewards. Just buy two and pay for one. That's it.

Meanwhile, for this shopping week (Jan 13-19, 2013), there is a $1 after rebate promotion on 60pks of 4x6 Staples branded photo paper.

Jan 13-19: 60pk Staples 4x6 photo paper for $1AR (limit 4)

For the Staples brick and mortar shopping week of January 13-19, 2013, you can get a 60pk of Staples brand Gloss Photo Plus photo paper for $1 after a $9 Easy Rebate. You pay $10 + tax in-store. Then submit the rebate online, and receive $9 back as a postcard check (or with other redemptions options available when you submit the rebate). This promotion is limit 4 for the Jan 13-19, 2013 shopping week. So if you want to max out, you buy four 60pks, you pay $40 + tax in-store, submit the rebates online, and receive $36 back after a few weeks.

Meanwhile, ending at the close of business on Saturday January 12, 2013 at Staples brick and mortar is a limit 4 rebate promotion on 50pk of 8.5x11 Staples brand double sided matte photo paper for $1 after a $14 Easy Rebate. Same rebate routine as above.

The promotional period is typically the Sunday open to Saturday close brick and mortar shopping week and if you use a lot of photo paper, by taking advantage of these promotions, you can stock up without breaking the bank. As usual, if you are not familiar with how these work, be sure to research them and google them. Do not assume! A lot of the rebate problems happen because people assume this works similarly to something else they might be familiar with, but each rebate and rewards program is different! So be sure to research them first if you are not familiar with these!

Jan 6-12: 100% Rewards on Energizer Max AA Alkalines

For the shopping week of January 6-12 in 2013, Office Depot will be having another crazy 100% Rewards promotion that includes 24pks of Energizer Max single-use Alkaline AA batteries. Based on the front page ad of the Weekly Ad for the Jan 6-12/2013 ad posted at the Office Depot website, only AA batteries are participating (no AAA this time). This is the usual crazy Office Depot rewards: limit 2 per item per member PER DAY during the week of Jan 6-12/2013. So if you want to completely max out, you can get 14 24pks of batteries, pay $266 + tax in-store, and around May 2013, you will receive $266 back in rewards.

Please note: you don't get cashback. You get rewards, which are similar to store credit and you must spend them within 3 months of issuance. So when deciding how many batteries to buy, it is a good idea to also plan how you will spend your rewards before you buy the batteries. Office Depot has P&S cameras (very few iLCs), iPods, laptops, tablets (no iPads), printers, office supplies, etc.

Jan 6-12: 50pk Staples 8.5x11 DS matte photo paper for $1 AR (L4)

For the brick and mortar stores shopping week of Jan 6-12, 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 50pk of double-sided Staples brand 8.5" x 11" matte photo supreme photo paper for $1 after a $14 Easy Rebate. You pay $15 + tax in-store, then submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive $14 back. In previous iterations of this particular promotion, the your-money-back options were Postcard check by mail or prepaid Visa gift card or Staples gift card. Meanwhile, good until the close of business on Saturday January 5, 2013 is the free-after-Easy-Rebate promotion on 60pk Staples brand 4x6 photo paper at Staples brick and mortar stores.

Sales tax not refunded. You pay $10 + tax in-store, submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks you receive $10 back (choices vary, but typically include at least one of postcard-check, PayPal, Visa gift card, Staples gift card).

Batteries: 100% after rewards continue this week at all three office chains

If you frequently shop at office supply chains and you want to stock up on single-use alkaline AA and AAA batteries, the 100% after Rewards promotions on Duracells at Staples and Office Max and Energizers at Office Depot continue for this shopping week as well. This covers the period of brick and mortar store opening on Sunday December 16 until close of business of Saturday December 22, 2012. Each one of the three stores has its own rules and terms on their Rewards programs, so be sure to read up on them if you are not sure how they work. All are Rewards, not cash! They are similar to store credit but you have to spend them within three months after they are issued.

Dec 9-15: 100% Duracells, $1AR 4x6 photo paper

For the brick and mortar store shopping week of December 9-15, 2012 (open on Sunday until close of business Saturday), the 100%-back-in-Rewards Duracell single-use alkalinke AA/AAA specials continue at both Office Max and Staples. The terms of the promotion are the same, two total (two AA or two AAA or one of each) at each store for the shopping week (Sunday AM until Saturday PM). It is a new promotion every week, so you can continue doing this on a weekly basis. While submitting the rebate online, check to see which options are available to you. You must select a different option if you don't want whichever one Staples marks as the default.

This brick and mortar shopping week (Dec 2-8, 2012), you can stock up on single-use AA/AAA alkalines after 100% rewards. We already mentioned the Duracell specials at Staples and Office Max but there are also specials at Office Depot. If you like to stock up on Duracell AA/AAA single-use batteries, you are in luck! In addition to Staples, Office Max brick and mortar stores too will offer these batteries for 100% back in Rewards. The limit is two for the brick and mortar week of Sunday December 2 until the close of business Saturday 8, 2012. Only the designated products are eligible, not everything Duracell. Office Max offers 20pks while Stales offers 16pks. The limit is two for the week (two AA or two AAA or one each). If you end up getting carried away by the deals and get more than you need, you can always donate them at a local toy-drive, school, charity, non-profit, etc.

Dec 2-8 at Staples B&M: 50pk double-sided 8.5x11 and Duracells

CVS now: buy $15+ Duracell get $5 Extrabucks (buy $75 iTunes, get $20 ExtraBucks)

CVS is trying to steal a march on the competition this week as they have already unleashed their Black Friday specials at brick and mortar stores. Of camera/photography interest, they are offering $5 Extrabucks when you purchase $15+ in Duracell batteries (including the pre-charged AA rechargeables), and $20 in Extrabucks when you purchase $75 in Apple iTunes/AppStore gift cards ($20 off $75 = 27% off). Please note this is not a discount on the purchase price, but an after-purchase bonus that you can use on your next purchase (the Extrabucks). This is not cashback! The ExtraBucks have an expiration date and each certificate must be used in full, so it is of interest if you are a regular CVS shopper or if you do not object to shopping there. This is in their weekly ad that covers up to the close of business on Saturday November 24, 2012.

Fry's Weekly Specials: Nikon D90 body for $700, etc

The wild west of electronics shopping that is Fry's Electronics has a new weekly ad. The headliner of the camera specials is perhaps the Nikon D90 body only going for $700 with free shipping. In order to see the price, you have to add to cart, logon to the Fry's account, and proceed all the way to Checkout. They may have more specials in-store, but I have no way of knowing remotely. The Fry's weekly ads are good Friday through Wednesday. They don't follow the usual Sunday to Saturday convention.

Dolica ZX600 tripod with GS300 camera case for $95 w/free S&H

As one of their latest weekly specials, NewEgg is offering the Dolica ZX600 tripod + GS300 camera case combo [corrected link] for $95 with free shipping. The bundle is the Dolica ZX600 carbon-fiber tripod and the Dolica GS300 camera case. Limit five per customer. This is a limited time offer. No promo code required.

The latest NewEgg weekly specials feature a boat load of consumer electronics, including a variety of hard disks and storage options, computers, the black Canon SX260 HS superzoom for $230 and other assorted items. Then you submit a rebate online (no need to mail anything), and after a few weeks, you will receive $14 back. Sales-tax is not refunded. This is a limit four promotion for the week of November 4-10, 2012 (Sunday AM until Saturday close of business).

If you max out on this promotion during the November 4-10 week, you get 200pcs of photo paper, you pay $60 + tax in-store, you submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks, you will receive $56 back. The last few times this recurring promotion was offered, you had a choice between a postcard check sent to you by mail, a prepaid Visa gift card or a prepaid Staples gift card. PayPal was not an option for this promotion. The postcard check can be deposited at your bank like a regular check, however, physically it may be too thick to deposit using a regular ATM.
