Fry's storage deals with in-store coupon codes (60GB SSD for $40, etc)

A new email from Fry's has "secret" in-store (brick and mortar store) coupon codes. For example, you can get the 60GB Patriot SSD for $40 after promo code (limit 1 one per customer, price before coupon is $55) or the 64GB Monster C10 microSD card (with full-size SD adapter) for $32. They also have their usual variety of weekly ad specials and they are running a "free shipping with order of $23+" promotion. As usual with advertised Fry's specials, YMMV. We obviously can't check every item in every store for availability.

March 16-22: 100% rebate on 50pk 8.5x11 Staples photo paper

This recurring promotion returns for the Staples brick-and-mortar stores shopping week of Sunday March 16 AM until the close of business on Saturday March 22 in 2014. It is 100% back after Easy Rebate (submitted online) on a 50pk of 8.5x11 double-sided Staples-brand photo paper. You pay $15 + tax (if applicable), use the information from your receipt to submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive a $15 prepaid VISA card by mail. Limit two for the 3/16-22 week.

March 2-8 (2014): free 60pk Staples 4x6 photo paper after Easy Rebate

For the brick and mortar shopping week of Sunday March 2nd until the close of business on Saturday March 8 in 2014, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 60pk of Staples 4x6 photo paper for $9.50 plus tax (if applicable). Then you use the information from your cash register receipt and submit the Easy Rebate online. After 4-6 weeks, you will receive a check for $9.50. Tax is not refunded. This is a postcard size check. It does not fit in ATM machines, but you can deposit it at your local branch or use your bank's/credit-union's online apps to deposit it online. The PayPal option is no longer available for the Staples Easy Rebates. This promotion is limit two for this weekly period. You don't mail anything in, you don't cut UPC codes. These are very straightforward rebates because they verify them directly from the cash register data.

Reminder: The Staples 4x6 rebates are in the form of a postcard check. The Staples 8.5x11 rebates are in the form of a prepaid VISA card.

Free after Easy Rebate (Febr 16-22): 50pk of 8.5x11 double sided photo paper (limit 2)

At Staples brick and mortar stores, between Sunday 2/16/14 at opening time and Saturday 2/22/14 at closing time, you can get a 50pk of Staples brand 8.5x11 double-sided matte photo paper for free after an Easy rebate (rebate can be submitted online). No coupon code is needed. Nothing to mail, no UPC codes to cut! The promotion is limit two for the week.

You pay $15 plus tax (if applicable) in store. After you go home, you use information from your cash register receipt to submit the rebate online. After a few weeks, you will receive a $15 prepaid VISA gift card. Sales tax is not included in the rebate amount. If you max out (limit 2), you pay $30 plus tax, and receive a $30 prepaid VISA gift card.

If you want to research the photo paper ahead of time, it is Staples SKU 564121 (offer is only good in-store unless otherwise indicated on their website).

100% back in Rewards on 24pk of AA Energizer Max alkaline batteries

If you are a frequent Office Depot customer, and you are looking to stock up on Energizer AA alkaline single-use batteries, their 100% rewards promotion is back. The offer is this: you receive 100% back as Rewards (on the product price; not the sales tax) on a 24pk of Energizer Max AA alkaline batteries. You can buy two of these per day, each day, for the week of Sunday 1/5/14 until the close of business on Saturday 1/11/14. This is good for online, brick and mortar and by phone purchases.

If you want to max out on this deal, it is two 24pks per day, for seven days (Sunday AM until Saturday PM), so you will end up with 14 24pks. A few weeks later, you will receive the purchase price back as Office Depot Rewards. The sales tax is not covered/included. You receive Rewards (think along the lines of Office Depot store credit with an expiration date), not cash/check!

The offer is only good on this specific 24pk, Office Depot item #626-049, not every Energizer set. You can check availability, terms, conditions, and local store hours through the Office Depot website.

TIP: if you are not familiar with how these rewards work, do not jump in unless you research them first. You cannot easily convert Office Depot rewards to cash, and you cannot roll them like you can with Office Max rewards. In other words, if you are not a frequent Office Depot shopper, you have to plan how you are going to spend them before you commit to the purchase. I've done these a few times, and if you follow the rules and the deadlines and understand the terms and restrictions, they are reliable.

(ENDED) iTunes Gift Card promotions at Brick & Mortar this week

These weekly specials ended, but iTunes gift card promotions are recurring, so if you don't need to get one right now, just wait for the next promotion... I haven't checked all the brick and mortar weekly ads for this week, but of the ones I did check, there are in-store promotions for iTunes plastic gift card purchases. This covers the week ending Saturday night 6/15/13. At Walgreens, if you buy a $25 iTunes plastic gift card, you will receive a $5 Walgreens gift card. At CVS, if you buy a $50 iTunes plastic gift cad, you will receive a $10 CVS Extrabucks reward (must be spend on a single future transaction of $10+).

Strategery: there are frequent iTunes gift card promotions, so if you are a regular consumer of iTunes content, there's no reason to ever pay full price. Just keep an eye out for gift card promotions (plastic or electronic) and load up. These can also serve as an "emergency gift" to have in case of a gifting emergency. Then when your iTunes store balance goes low, you can load up one of the gift cards.

60pk 4x6 Staples photo paper for $2 after rebate (pay less with Season Pass)

For the week of June 9-15 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 60pk of Staples branded 4x6 photo paper for $2 after an $8 Easy Rebate. Easy Rebates can be submitted online (nothing to mail in or copy or cut) and can be received as PayPal, Postcard checks or gift cards. You pay $10 + tax in-store, submit the Easy Rebate online, and after a few weeks you receive $8 in your chosen method.

This is a limit 4 promotion during the June 9-15 week.

But that's not all! You can save even more! Staples will be launching the $10 Season Pass starting June 9. You pay $10 to get the season pass, and from purchase day until September 21, you save 15% on supplies at Staples. Excluded are thin margin items like computers, gift cards, etc. In other words, if you plan to buy over $70 worth of supplies at Staples during these 3.5 months, you save more with this pass than without. The Season Pass is good for the purchase of photo paper, so this offer would be 15% of $10, so essentially it would become around 50c after rebate.

It is also possible that Staples may issue a mid-week coupon to further drop the $2 after rebate price, but that is not guaranteed.

Lexar Class 4 SDHC and microSDHC sale: 8GB for $7, 16GB for $10, 32GB for $19

For this shopping week (May 19 to 25 in 2013), Office Max has a Lexar memory card and USB sticks sale. Included are 8GB models (microSDHC, SDHC, USB sticks) for $6, 16GB models for $10, and 32GB for $19. The memory cards are class 4 (100x) at these prices.

Shipping is free if the total of your order is $20 or more. You can also select Store Pickup or buy them from your local Office Max store.

If buying online and you are under $20 with the memory cards, you can purchase them together with the 100% Rewards office supplies specials (yellow stickies, pens) and get the free shipping.

Office Max has another promotion for this week, pay $101 and get one $100 and one $15 iTunes plastic gift card. Shipping is included in the gift card price (99c). Their gift card product page is a chaotic mess, but basically you click on the first item in the list (23843520) with the "Special Offer" next to it. The Office Max shopping cart will automatically include the $15 free gift card. Please note these are both plastic gift cards to be delivered by mail. Limit 1 promotion per shopping cart. (There are plenty of camera and photography apps along with digital photography books and guides at iTunes if you are part of the Apple digital ecosystem).

May 5-11: Pay $45, get $50 in Amazon plastic gift cards (B&M)

The circular ad for the brick and mortar shopping week of May 5 to 11 (2013) for Office Max brick and mortar stores is out and on the front page, it reveals an offer that gets you a $5 discount when you purchase two $25 Amazon plastic gift cards. No coupons. That's like getting a 10% discount on a $50 Amazon purchase. Considering that Amazon gift cards are almost as good as cash in terms of value, these often sell out quickly, especially if you live in an area with a lot of online shoppers or crafty Craiglisters. This is at Office Max B&M stores, not their website. This is an offer that is recurring every few months, I was expecting a catch, but actually both times I jumped on this offer in the past, there were no problems (except for finding the gift cards in-stock).

Canon D-Rebel T3 w/18-55 drops to $380

It looks like the Canon D-Rebel T3/1100D with its 18-55 kit lens is finally breaking the $400 barrier. It is currently available for $380 at Fry's for both online shoppers and store pick-up-ers. I don't know if Amazon will price-match this, the current Amazon price is $410.

You can check all the latest specials at Fry's using their weekly ad. Fry's has new weekly specials every Friday. Their shopping week is Friday through Thursday.

B&M: mirrorless specials in new Fry's weekly ad( In-Store Only; some demo/open-box)

The new weekly ad is out for the wild west of electronics, Fry's Electronics, and they have a mirrorless camera sale. These are in-store only specials, meaning you have to either buy them or pick them up at a local brick and mortar Fry's store. The top right corner of the aforelinked ad page shows among others:

+ Olympus E-PM1 w/14-42mm for $200
+ Panasonic GF5 with the 14-42mm lens for $300 in your choice of black or white
+ Pentax Q for $264 (presumably with a lens)
+ Nikon V1 w/10-30 for $379 in black or white
+ some may be demo, some may be open-box
+ supplies vary from store to store
+ this is a very YMMV as we can't check each individual Fry's store
+ more specials at the cameras page in the ad

You pay $10 plus tax (if applicable) in-store, submit the rebate online, select your reimbursement option (PayPal or postcard check) and after a few weeks, you will receive your $10 back. Starting March 24: 16GB PNY microSDHC Class 10 for $8.75 w/coupon

For the brick and mortar shopping week of Sunday March 24 until the close of business on Saturday March 30 at Office Max brick and mortar stores, you can get the 16GB PNY microSDHC Class 10 memory card for $8.75 when you use the 20% off coupon that can be found in the new weekly ads and also at the Office Max weekly ad website. This is Office Max product code 23742826. The current price of this $35. It should be adjusted early on Sunday morning. I do not know if this price will also be offered online.

Fry's Ad: Canon 60D $700, w/18-135 for $900, S110: $320, CaseLogic TB-cases for $5 each

It is Friday and this means a new weekly ad at the wild world that is Fry's Electronics. You may have to add to cart and login with a Fry's account in order to see the price. Fry's uses multiple checkout servers, so you have to type in your username and password almost every time. Some of the prices that beat Amazon as of the time of writing:

+ Canon 60D body for $700 - vs $750 at Amazon (w/free 16GB SDHC and lens cap keeper and 2% rewards)

+ Canon 60D w/18-135 for $900 - vs $980 at Amazon (w/free 16GB SDHC and lens cap keeper and 2% rewards)

+ Canon S110 for $320 - vs $330 at Amazon

+ brick and mortar YMMV YMMV YMMV clearance sale on a variety of camera bags and cases at the bottom of page #17 including the Case Logic TBC-310BK or TBC-307 for around $5 each (they go for $50 and $30+ at Amazon - TB-310 and TB-307). Again, please note availability will likely vary from store to store, so YMMV!

B&M: March 17-23: 75% off original price of clearance cameras at ODP

The new weekly ad sneak peak at Office Depot reveals that the company will be having a clearance sale on digital cameras at the Office Depot stores during the shopping week of March 17-23 in 2013. The teaser in their weekly ad online says:

"Save up to 75% off original price on clearance digital cameras. While supplies last. No rainchecks. Selection varies by location."

Prices and availability will likely vary from store to store. Keep in mind Office Depot brick and mortar stores typically carries point and shoot cameras, and maybe a couple of interchangeable lens cameras. I recall seeing Canon D-Rebels and Nikon 1-System CX cameras, but again, things may vary from store to store.

March 17-23: FAR 8.5x11 photo paper, 100% rewards on Duracells, 50% Canon photo paper

The weekly ad for the March 17-23 in 2013 at Staples Brick and Mortar stores has been published at the Staples website and there are a number of photography interest specials going live during the March 17-23, 2013 week as follows:

+ Free After Easy Rebate on a 50pk of 8.5x11 Staples brand supreme photo paper (you pay $15 + tax per 50pk, submit rebate online, receive amount of $15 after a few weeks as gift card or postcard check by mail; choice of rewards is made when you submit the rebate online; if you don't change the selection, you will receive the default which is a gift card). Limit TWO for the week.

You must show your Staples rewards card at purchase time. You cannot fix this later. You will receive $14 in Staples rewards by the end of the next month. Note this is not a rebate promotion but a rewards promotion. Staples Rebates vs Rewards are two different and separate programs. Be sure to understand the distinction if not familiar with these. You cannot use Rewards to pay for Rewards purchases. Limit TWO for the week.

+ 50% off on select Canon photo papers (excludes clearance). This is a price-you-see-is-the-price-you-pay promotion. No coupons, no rebates, no rewards

+ as always, sales tax in not refunded in rebates and rewards promotions

+ promotions may vary by state/region/zipcode. We obviously can't check every state/city/zipcode. To be sure, check by looking up your local Staples stores or wait for the weekly ad to arrive in the Sunday papers or the B&M stores on Sunday

Pentax Optio WG-2 red waterproof for $150 at B&M

The weekly ad for Target for the week of March 10 to 16 in 2013 is offering the red Pentax Optio WG-2 waterproof for $150. This is good in-store only. Availability at local stores varies and we obviously can't check the hundreds of Target B&M stores out there, so YMMV...

Thursday, March 07, 2013

March 10-16: 20% off clearance and demo cameras with coupon at Staples B&M

Fro the shopping week of March 10 through 16 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar store, you can find a coupon in their weekly ad (printed or on their website) that gives you a 20% off discount on the current (at the time) prices of clearance and demo digital cameras. Selection and availability may vary from Staples store to Staples store. If you don't have the weekly ad, you can load their weekly ad or app on your smartphone and show the coupon code to the Staples cashier. Availability YMMV...

IF you are a fan of coupon-matching, you can also try to get other local stores to match the coupon offer, but this is a very YMMV endeavor...

Sunday, March 03, 2013

Mar 3-9: 60pk of 4x6 photo paper free after rebate

This is a limit two for the week promotion. Typically these type of promotions are weekly, so you can do them every week. To be certain, always check the rebate receipt that automatically prints at the cash register.
