Instant Savings on Olympus and Sony Lenses

Two new manufacturer initiated instant savings promotions have gone live and they are good until June-22-2013. Instant savings on Olympus M43rds & Four Thirds lenses and flashes and EVFs with a total of 20 items participating. Also instant savings on Sony Alpha SLR lenses with 11 items participating.

New Sony DSLR and NEX Instant Savings [updated]

Sony has launched a new round of instant savings promotion, with price-fixed Sony cameras changing prices at authorized Sony dealers. If you see lower prices, make sure you are looking at an authorized Sony dealer! Some of the deals websites and camera blogs are either clueless or irresponsible in not mentioning this distinction when mentioning deals of that type. This round of instant savings expires June-1-2013. Here they are:

+ $200 combined purchase Instant Savings discount if you buy an SLT DSLR with the 18-135 lens
+ Alpha DSLR combined purchase Lens discounts with 55-200, 55-300, 75-300

Sony Alpha and NEX Instant Rebates expire 4/27/13

The Sony Alpha DSLR and NEX E-mount instant rebates expire on 4/27/13 unless renewed/extended. Check what is currently available at B&H Photo.

Sony DSLR and NEX Instant Rebates (expire 3/30/13)

B&H Photo has a new page with the latest Sony Instant Rebates, both of the NEX and of the Alpha DSLR variety. Simply click on the lens of interest on the left of the page and you will see all eligible combinations.
NEX cameras included go from NEX-F3 to NEX-7 and DSLRs go from A37 to A99 depending on the each individual lens. This promotion expires 3/30/13.

New Sony Alpha DSLR Instant Rebates good until November 6

A new round of Sony Alpha Instant Rebates is good until November 6, 2012. You get a $100 combined purchase discount if you purchase one of these DSLR kits with one of these lenses. There is no coupon code to enter, just add to cart and proceed to checkout.

Meanwhile the current pricing of Alpha DSLRs continues at least until October 6, 2012.

Still good: Sony NEX-5n body for $400 (w/lens for $500) [add 55-210 for +$250]

If you are looking for a foothold in the Sony NEX mirrorless system, the NEX-5n body only continues to go for $400, and the NEX-5n w/18-55 [corrected link] goes for $500. Sunday has come and gone and the price did not go up... For a refresher on the camera, check the list of completed NEX-5n reviews.

Sony Alpha Pro Lens instant savings

B&H Photo has an updated page with the Sony Alpha Pro Lens Instant Savings. These are good until September-30-2012.

Sony Alpha Instant Rebates extended to Sept-1-2012

The Sony Alpha Instant Rebates at Amazon have been extended until September-1-2012. It is a $100 off discount when you purchase a qualifying Alpha DSLR kit (A37, A57, A65, A77) and one of these lenses (18-250, 75-300, 55-200). As usual, all qualifying items must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not 3rd-party sellers.

Sony Alpha A35 w/18-55, 55-200, 18-70 for $717

The Sony Alpha A35 w/18-55 kit stands at the intersection of two Sony promotions, the previously mentioned Alpha Instant Rebates and the free Alpha 18-70mm DT promotion. These two promotions are stackable, so you end up with the Alpha A35 body and three lenses. Here are the steps:

1) add the Sony Alpha A35 w/18-55 kit to cart along with the free 18-70mm DT lens - you can add them together from the Alpha 18-70mm DT promotion page
2) add one of these three Instant Rebate lenses to cart
3) proceed to Amazon Checkout page. Look at the top right corner, and you will see two discounts reflected, one $100 off for the Instant Rebates, and one $160 off for the Alpha 18-70mm DT lens
4) If you don't see the discounts reflected, it means there is something wrong, do not proceed
5) only items sold and shipped by Amazon itself are eligible. Marketplace and 3rd-party sellers are not eligible for this promotion
6) all items must be in-stock or orderable for this to work. This stackable thing ends June 16, 2012 or earlier if the participating items are sold-out/unorderable

Sony 18-250 joins Alpha Instant Rebates

The Sony 18-250mm superzoom lens has joined the Alpha Instant Rebates, which are good until June-30-2012 when you purchase select Sony Alpha pellicle-mirror DSLRs with select lenses. The discounts are rather stingy, only $100 off for each lens, and they are not stackable. It is one DSLR kit and one lens per shopping cart. You also have to enter the coupon codes shown at the pages below. Here are the three eligible lenses and here are the various eligible DSLR kits (Alpha A77, A65, A57, A37).

Sony Alpha Instant Rebates expand to include 18-250 and A57

The Sony Alpha Instant Rebates have now been expanded to include the 18-250mm lens as an option along with the new Alpha A57 kits. You must enter the coupon codes shown there in order to get the discount. These are the eligible Alpha DSLRs and these are the eligible Alpha lenses. Sony has launched a new round of instant rebates on the Alpha A55/A35 and 55-200 or 75-300 lenses. Follow the instructions at the aforelinked page for $100 off discount on the price of either lens when purchased together with the qualifying kit. The promotion ends March 31, 2012. As usual, only items sold and shipped by Amazon itself qualify for this promotion.

Separately, there are some instant-savings discount on select Alpha DSLR lenses.

(ENDED) Sony Alpha instant rebates w/kit zooms (A77 to A390)

These have ended as scheduled. B&H Photo has created a summary page of the current Sony Alpha Instant Rebates, featuring both the pellicle-mirror and traditional-mirror DSLRs. The lenses participating are the 55-200 and 75-300 for all the dSLRs, except for the Alpha A900 which only qualifies for the 28-75mm f2.8 lens. The current iteration of the instant rebates expires November-29-2011 (unless they get renewed again).

(DEAD) Sony NEX-3 two-lens kit in-stock again for $500

The price of the NEX-3 has jumped to $600! The Sony NEX-3 two lens kit special is in-stock again at Amazon for $500! The promotion is this: you get the NEX-3 w/18-55 kit and you get the 16mm f2.8 pancake for free. Simply add both to cart and make sure both are sold and shipped by Amazon, not by third-party sellers! The promotion ends December-3-2011. Please note this is the older NEX-3, not to be confused with the 2011 model, the NEX-C3.

Sony NEX-5 two-lens kit (18-55, 16mm pancake) for $750

Thanks to the Sony NEX instant rebates, you can get the Sony NEX-5 two lens kit (16mm pancake, 18-55) for $750 after instant rebates. You can do this in two different ways: start from the NEX-5 w/18-55mm and then add the 16mm pancake lens or start with the NEX-5 w/16mm pancake and add the 18-55 NEX zoom lens.

The benefit of having two ways to go about it is that if one of the kits sells out, you can buy it the other way around! As usual with these things, be sure to note that all qualifying items must be sold and shipped by Amazon itself, not by 3rd-party/marketplace/used sellers.

These have ended The Sony Alpha instant rebates at B&H Photo expire on May 14, 2011. Participating DSLRs are the Alpha A33, A55, A290, A560, A580, A850, and A900. The APS-C DSLRs qualify for either the 75-300 or 55-200 lenses, while the two full frame DSLRs qualify for $200 off the 28-75mm f2.8 SAM.
