This is more of an existential availability alert than a discount alert. If you are looking for the LX3, the best prices at Amazon right now are $462 with free shipping by Amazon herself for the black model (LX3K), and $434 with free shipping via Willoughbhy's for the the silver model (LX3S).

If interested in the black model, you can also get it for $461 at OneCall. We probably need to re-create the LX3 stock-status matrix :)

Panasonic LX3K slides to $451

The sold and shipped by Amazon price of the Panasonic LX3K has dropped again. You can now get it sold and shipped by Amazon herself for $451 with free shipping and handling.

Please note that Amazon itself is not the featured seller on the aforementioned Amazon product page. There are third-party sellers offering it for less. As usual with unfamiliar sellers, do not buy unless you research them to your satisfaction.

To locate Amazon as the seller, look at the right side of the Amazon product page and locate the "More Buying Choices" box, right below the "Add to Cart" and "Add to Wish List" buttons. Then find the Amazon.com entry. If you are not a regular Amazon shopper, this is something you need to learn to do on a regular basis. Sometimes the lowest price by well-known sellers is in this box, instead of the featured spot.

For more on the camera, be sure to check the LX3 diary, and the mini-blog of its nemesis, the Canon S90is, which is shipping at $430 as you can see at the S90 stock status page.

Panasonic LX3K (black) ships for $451 (updated)

The prices were refreshed on Sunday Nov 1 at 6pm EST. The original prices are striked-out for reference. As you can see there is a trend: down!

It's been quite a few months since the black Panasonic LX3 dropped below its opening price of $500. Right now, third-party seller "6ave" is offering the black LX3 at Amazon.com for $490 $451 with free shipping. Or if you prefer, Amazon herself is offering it for $500 $475.

This is still above the lowest price of $400 which it reached about a year ago (you can research the dates by searching for "LX3, $400" on this blog - there is a search-box on the top right corner of every page). And after that, the hard-to-find thing started happening.

For more on the camera, be sure to check its diary.
