We have an in-stock alert for Canon EOS users! The new Canon 15-85mm EF-S IS f3.5-5.6 USM lense is now shipping from B&H Photo for the expected opening price of $800 plus shipping. As usual with the "house" lenses, they cost more than the Sigma/Tamron/Tokina equivalents, so there are trade-offs (as always).
We have a now-shipping alert for you! The Samsung ST1000 (aka CL65), a camera that was announced in early August, featuring GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, folded-optics, and touch-screen functionality is now shipping!
Amazon.com itself has it for $340 with free shipping and handling. This is a silver-color body (this is so new they don't even have a picture of it at the Amazon product page).
The modest mouse Flip camcorder went from a humble little thing, to a genre-creating device. Now just about every electronics manufacturer is scrambling to make their Flip-clone. Flip itself was purchased by Cisco. Today, Samsung's answer, the HMX-U10 is in-stock and shipping for $179, sold and shipped by Amazon herself. This includes the green color which wasn't shipping until today.
Well, Samsung does need to work on the name! Try saying "HMX-U10" three times in a row versus saying "Flip" :)

It is available for delivery in your choice of immediate software download or box-in-the-mail. Please note that the software-download is a big file, so be sure to have a solid and fast internet connection. The recently announced Canon 18-200mm EF-S IS superzoom lens is now shipping from B&H Photo for the starting and expected price of $500. This is intended for non-full-frame EF-S dSLRs, and gives roughly the equivalent of the old 28-300mm lenses, although because of the 1.6X factor, this is a little bit more "zoomie" than that.
One of the most anticipated compacts of this season is the Sony Cybershot WX1, as it is the most serious of the two new Sony cameras that are using the Exmor R CMOS 1/2.x" sensor. And it is now shipping for the starting price of $350. Shipping from Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon itself.

We can't recall any reviews of this camera, however David Pogue of the New York Times has compared it to the Fuji F200EXR in his low-light highlight column.
