Nikon D810 Switch and Save Promotion: buy D810 and Lenses/Flashes, Get Vouchers to Spend on future Nikon gear purchase

Nikon started a new Switch and Save promotion to encourage more photographers to get to the new Nikon D810 dSLR. This is an intermediate to advanced level deal, so do make sure you pay attention to the details and deadlines. This offer requires the filling in of forms and mailing of them to the Nikon Melville New York address. This is different from what Nikon previously did with Instant Savings and Rebates.

This Amazon Promotional page describes the process.

Requirement #1: You must purchase the Nikon D810 body only between 7/17/14 and 9/30/14.

Requirement #2: With this promotion, you don't have to buy the lenses and flashes in the same transaction (shopping cart). They can be purchased on different days. But they must be purchased within 30 days - before or after - the D810 camera body purchase.

Requirement #3: you must buy at least $1750 in qualifying Nikon SLR Lenses and Speedlites. The amount of your promotional voucher depends on your purchase total amount:

+ $200 Nikon Switch & Save Promotional Voucher with $1750+ purchase of NIKKOR Lenses and/or Nikon Speedlights*
+ $400 Nikon Switch & Save Promotional Voucher with $3500+ purchase of NIKKOR Lenses and/or Nikon Speedlights*
+ $1000 Nikon Switch & Save Promotional Voucher with $7000+ purchase of NIKKOR Lenses and/or Nikon Speedlight
+ NOTE: the price of the D810 body only does NOT count towards the limits above

Requirement #4: you must fill in a form with your eligible purchases, include copy of receipts and original UPC codes from the product boxes, and the original serial numbers. After you assemble your paperwork, and make photocopies and take pictures of your submission, you mail it to Nikon to a Melville New York mailing address. You must submit these by 10/31/14.

Fulfillment: if all is well, Nikon will send you a promotional voucher that you can use towards the future purchase of Nikon Imaging products at that specific retailer you made your original purchase. If there's an issue with that specific retailer you made your purchase at, your vouchers will instead be good at Nikon's own online store

NOTE: you are not receiving cash back! You are receiving a promotional voucher that can only be used in the future towards the purchase of Nikon Imaging products at the retailer you made your original purchases!

If you purchased the Nikon D810 before July 17 (2014), you are still eligible for this promotion as long as your lens and flash purchases were made within 30 days (before or after) the DSLR body purchase.

This is a fairly involved promotion and it includes filling in forms, cutting bar codes and mailing things and making photocopies and such. Be sure to read all the terms and conditions on both the Amazon page and the PDF file of the form for this promotion included over there. If you are not certain, do not assume! Try to find out first. This is different from previous Nikon promotions. If you are not willing to spend the time and put in the tedious work needed to get all these done correctly and then monitor their progress and be prepared to fight them in case they come up with excuses, then you may want to consider not jumping in on this promotion.

Free Accessories and 4% Rewards Stackable with Stackable Nikon DSLR Instant Rebates

We have a stackable party of stackables, Nikon style! The new stackable Nikon DSLR Instant Rebates are also stackable with these two separate promotions:

1) free accessories with Nikon DSLRs, typically a camera bag and a memory card. Except for the Nikon D4 which gets an xQD card, a bag and a tripod. No coupon code, just add to cart and price will be automatically adjusted in the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page.

2) 4% Promotional Rewards, emailed to you automatically by Amazon 35 days after your order ships

We have just posted a detailed write-up on the Nikon DSLR Instant Rebates for September 2013 if you are not intimately familiar with how these work.

If you were planning to get the Nikon D4 anyway, you can also get a free 32GB Sony xQD memory card and AmazonBasics SLR sling backpack and 60-inch tripod when you buy them together in the same shopping cart.

This is the 32GB Sony XQD Memory Card H Series (QDH32/T) which goes for $230 on its own. Simply add the D4 and the three free accessories to your shopping cart, and their price will be automatically deducted at the top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page.

Nikon D800s: free useful Accessories (extra EN-EL15, backpack, SDHC) stackable with Nikon Instant Rebates and 4% Rewards

If you are looking to buy either the Nikon D800 or the D800E body only kits, there is a three-layer stackable promotion at Amazon. Start at the free accessories promotion page: add either the D800 or the D800E and all three of the accessories (Extreme SDHC, extra Nikon EN-EL15 battery, AmazonBasics SLR backpack). This promotion ends 6/30/13.

The second layer is optional - you can take advantage of the stackable Nikon Instant Rebates. This promotion ends 6/29/13.

The third layer is automatic - a 4% instant reward discount on qualifying purchases applied in the shopping cart on the total amount (before the discounts are factored in!). The 4% promotion ends 6/15/13.

In our guinea-pig example here we added the Nikon D800 ($2800), the 24-70/2.8 ($1890), the 70-200/2.8 ($2400) and the three free accessories ($55, $34, $30) to the shopping cart. Then proceeded to the Amazon Checkout page. The top right corner of the Amazon Checkout page looks like this:

The -$283.40 is a 4% discount on all eligible items. The -$300 and -$200 are the Nikon Instant Rebates on the 70-200 and 24-70 lenses. The three smaller amounts (with green lines to their left) are the three free accessories (backpack, SDHC, battery).

Because of the 4% instant rewards, factored in the total price is an additional 4% discount on the instant rebate discount, since the 4% is on the full price of the lenses, not the discounted after combined purchase instant rebates. In our case, the $500 is subtracted after the 4% discount, so built-into the $283.40 discount is an additional $20 discount (4% of $500).

Research these two DSLRs using the list of completed Nikon D800 reviews and Nikon D800e reviews. Research the various eligible Nikon lenses through the Nikon mount Lens Reviews.

Stackable Nikon Instant Rebates return - buy 1 body and up to 4 lenses and get up to 4 discounts

The stackable Nikon Instant Rebates have returned! Buy one eligible DSLR and up to 4 eligible lenses and get up to 4 eligible discounts. You can see the available DSLRs and lenses at Amazon in a single page. The most effective way to find it at B&H Photo is to look for your Nikon DSLR of interest and click on the link below "Buy Together and Save" to see the available options. In a couple of previous iterations, they did not have a limit on how many lenses, but this time, there is a limit of 4. If you need more, you can also start another shopping cart - but that's assuming you could use an additional DSLR body.

A new round of Nikon Instant Rebates is up at Amazon, good until 4/27/13.
