Those who had placed pre-orders of the "zoomier' Pentax K-x two-lens kit should be having their orders shipped, because right now, on the Amazon.com product page, the K-x + 18-55/55-300mm kit is shown as in-stock and shipping for $843. This is $7 off the starting price, but less than the special pre-order price of $751 that was live a few days ago.

PS: "Zoomier" refers to the 55-300mm lens having more "zoom" than the 50-200mm

The first of the two Pentax K-x two-lens kits, the one with the 18-55 and 50-200mm lens has a $25 discount, you can now get it sold and shipped by Amazon herself for $725 with free shipping.

Meanwhile one of our readers who pre-ordered the other two lens kit (18-55/55-300) from Amazon was notified that it won't ship until December or January. There's a discount again for the Pentax K-x standard kit (with 18-55, black finish). You can get it as of the time of writing for $622 with free shipping sold and shipped by Amazon (corrected url) herself.

Pentax K7 body only drops again, now $1022

The Pentax K7 body-only has another slide in price, you can now get it sold and shipped by Amazon for $1022 with free shipping and handling. The previous price ledge for this kit was $1050.

Meanwhile, the K7 kit with the 18-55mm WR lens remains at $1102. So this makes it a more difficult decision in deciding which kit to get.

Pentax K-x two-lens kit (18-55 + 55-300) drops to $751 (pre-order)

We already mentioned this in the K-x discount update yesterday, but it got buried in the chaos, so we are mentioning it here on its own. The second Pentax K-x two-lens kit currently has a $100 pre-order discount at Amazon. Its regular pre-order price is $850, but Amazon has dropped it to $751. This is the two-lens kit with the 18-55mm and 55-300mm f4-5.8 lenses. The standard two-lens kit includes the 18-55mm and the 50-200mm lens and goes for $750. (We are assuming the $1 price difference is for disambiguation purposes).

This $100 discount may be another experimental promotion. Pentax appears to be experimenting with different things marketing-wise, starting with the 100 colors at announcement time. They already had a limited batch of K-x kits sold online through Best Buy with a $50 discount a few days ago, but they flew off the e-shelves very fast (unfortunately we missed them when they were live).

The Pentax K-x with the 18-55mm DA-L is not only shipping, but we just noticed a small discount! You can get it for $636 with free shipping by OneCall on Amazon. Look for OneCall as the featured seller in the "More Buying Choices" section. As of the time of writing, there are only two units in-stock.

If that one sells out, the next best price financially is at NewEgg.com where you can get the K-x with the 18-55 lens with a free Pentax DSLR Sling bag ($40 price on its own). Shipping is around $4 for 3-day UPS for the camera.

Meanwhile the K-x two-lens kit with the 18-55 and 50-200 DA-L lenses is shipping from B&H Photo for $750.

And some pre-order discount news! The starting price for the two-lens kit with the 18-55 and 55-300mm was $850, but right now, you can place a pre-order at Amazon for this kit for $751. [$100 pre-order discount alert!]

Obviously the kits bundled with the lenses are the best bang for the buck in terms of finances, but if you absolutely don't want the DA-L lenses, you can get the body-only for $600 from places like Adorama.

All of the above are for the black-body kits. The other colors (Star Wars, Diva Red and Modest Blue) are in pre-order status.

Pentax K7 with 18-55 DA WR lens for $1100

The Pentax K7 with the 18-55 DA WR lens was just recently listed at Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon, and you can get it right now for $1100. The same price appears to be at other retailers as well.

The body-only remains at $1050! So essentially, for $50 more, you are getting a 18-55mm WR DA lens!

Amazon.com and some of its third-party sellers have the Pentax K-x with kit lens in-stock and shipping for $650 with free shipping and handling! The other K-x kits and colors remain in pre-order status. We'll come up with a K-x stock-status matrix at some point :)
