The world has been shifting to digital SLRs for quite a while now, but two manual film SLRs continue to be available and generate some sales. Be it because they are required at some photography schools and classes, or homages to the early days, people continue to buy them. Who are they?
First up, it is the Vivitar V3800N which goes by many names, and soon will even have a Kodak name. It's best price right now is $185 via Ace Photo Digital of DC upon Amazon, but it is under $200 at most places out here and out there.
Wait, a zoom lens? A manual film camera deserves a normal prime! Which is why Vivitar also offers a kit with a 50mm 1.7 lens and case. The price is slightly less, around $165.
Next up, a new-wave classic from Nikon, the FM-10 kit going for $310 to $320 at a couple of well-known third-party sellers at on Amazon.
Both cameras come with a lens, the Vivitar with a 28-70mm f3.4-4.8 and the Nikon FM-10 with the 35-70mm lens.
Auto-focus? What is that???
