The lens clearance outlet at Amazon has 20+ lenses listed now, most of which are accessory type lenses (converters and such), along with a couple of Rokinons (Samyang) and ... the Leica 24mm f3.8 offered by Amazon itself for $2355. Its going price is $2500 at B&H.
This daily special has expired
Speaking of Amazon, their featured goldbox deal for Monday is the 3M MPro150 Pocket Projector offered for $200 with free S&H. The special ends at 3am EST on Tuesday or earlier if it sells out.
B&H Photo has some new arrivals of the more "exotic" variety in their Used store. This is an availability alert, not a discount alert! Please note all items mentioned below are used:
+ used Voigtlander Bessa-R3A (1:1 Viewfinder) 35mm Rangefinder Manual Focus Camera Body - Black Matte for $500
+ used Leica M8 w/hand-grip for $2450
+ used Canon 50mm f1.0L for $4500
+ shipping is additional
+ all items mentioned in this post are USED
I am not quite sure how to price-compare the Sigma SD15 with the Bayer sensor DSLRs, but if you are interested in the Sigma SD15, Adorama has it on special, they are offering it for $790 with free shipping. The promotion expires November 22, 2010.
If you are looking for the black Leica M9 for $7000, 3rd-party sellers on Amazon have it, as of the time of writing, for $7000 with free shipping. They even have two listings for it, listing #1 and listing #2. Among the third-party sellers shown are Willougbhby's, 17th Street Photo and Adorama. Please note some stores, like Adorama has special Holiday hours, see comment #1 for details on shipping and operating hours.
One more Amazon sales special, the Ricoh GXR A12 (APS-C sensor) with the 50mm f2.5 macro lens has now dropped to $748
$768 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Amazon itself.
The LensBaby 2.0 for the Leica R-mount of SLRs is now shipping from Amazon itself for $100 with free shipping and handling.
As of a Fri July 2 at 2:12pm EST price-check, the camera is now "temporarily out of stock".
The long wait is over! The Sigma SD15 body-only is now in-stock and shipping at B&H Photo for $989 plus shipping and handling. This is not a typo! We are talking about the Sigma SD15 (SD-fifteen), a DSLR with the Foveon sensor!
Please note the website shows them as in-stock, and we go by what the website says. We cannot buy something every time we want to find out its stock status - we would need a budget of $10+ million per year just for this task :)
Also arriving at Adorama is the Voigtlander 12mm f5.6 for the Leica M-mount for $849.
If you want to be among the first to receive the new Leica 35mm f1.4 M-series lens, then you can place a pre-order at Amazon for its opening price of $5000. This is a lens for the Leica M9, M8.2 and all other Ms.
We have a quasi-in-stock-alert. The Amazon product page for the steel-gray version of the Leica M9 is now listed as "ships in 1 to 4 weeks" at Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon itself. This is not a fixed-date, so with this type of a shipping estimate, your mileage will vary.
Willoughby's on Amazon is listing one black Leica M8 for $4000 with free shipping. They also had a silver one but it has sold out since yesterday. This is now two generations behind as the M8.2 followed up on the M8, and then the full-frame Holy Grain was discovered in the face of the Leica M9.
As usual when making purchases from third-party sellers or sellers you are not familiar with, be sure to research them to your satisfaction. This blog is a notification service, not a personal shopping and decision-making service. Different people have different preferences and risk tolerance and things like that.
All apologies to our regular readers for repeating these, but we have new readers who may not be familiar, so we post these as reminders.
Today's deal of the day at Calumet is for a very niche market, it is the Cambo Wide DS for Haselblad H1 with 35mm offered for
$4500 $6500 (typo!) plus shipping and handling. This is a friend of architectural photographers.
Today's deal of the day at Calumet Photo is the Mamiya 645AFD II Medium Format Camera Value Pack going for $3800 plus shipping. The price is good for Wednesday only. We do not have this camera in the Review Organizer.
Thankfully the stock-outage for the Leica D-Lux4 wasn't like the LX3, now the camera is back-in-stock at some of the major retailers for the expected price of $700 with free shipping. As of the time of writing, we find it in-stock at:
+ J&R World with free shipping
+ B&H Photo with free S&H
+ 3rd-party sellers at Amazon, headlined by J&R World
This deal is for the five medium format film photographers reading this blog :-) Calumet Photo has a new deal of the day, and that deal is a $700 discount from the standard price of the Hasselblad H2F with 80mm f/2.8 Lens, HV 90X eye-level viewfinder and HM16-32 Film magazine bundle. The price of this kit is $8700 at B&H Photo and Adorama. The $8000 price at Calumet is good until midnight central time. To see the $8000 price, you may have to "add to cart" by clicking the red Buy button. Please note this is a film camera, not digital.
Another price drop for the Sigma DP1, this time it is an organic price-drop, not a special deal of the day. You can get this Foveonesque camera for $450 with free shipping sold and shipped by Amazon.com itself. The current price is $200 less that then upcoming Sigma DP2, which should start shipping at some point in time (we do not know which point). Amazon itself estimates DP2 shipping to be "1 to 3 months" which is a polite way of saying "we don't know" :)
The gold box deal of the day at Amazon today is the Sigma DP1 going for $400 with free shipping and handling. No rebates, no nada. This is by Amazon.com herself, not other sellers there. It expires at 11:59pm pacific time, or earlier if it sells out before then.
