Save $20 on orders $100+ at Ritz online when paying with PayPal

If you were planning to make an online purchase at the online Ritz/Wolf camera stores (not the brick and mortar stores), and if you want to make your payment with PayPal, you can save an extra $20 off an order of $100 or more when paying with PayPal. As usual, there are terms and conditions on this offer along with restricted products (eg Canon 5D, Nikon D300). You can find all the promotional details by following the "Get $20 OFF" link on the front page of the RitzCamera.com website.

The promotion started on June 15 and it is good for an unspecified "limited time". Considering the age of the universe, it's hard to guess what "limited time" means :)

Samsung compact digital camera discounts at J&R World

A new wave of discounts on Samsung compact digital cameras has gone live at J&R World's discounts page, including various colors of the SL30 for $90, SL620 for $180, SL420 for $150, and HZ10w for $250.

Also discounted is the Olympus Stylus 550wp for $142 (black or blue), along with a 7-inch Sunpak digital picture frame for $30.

And one more thing, this of the "Engadget" variety, this time as the deal of the day at Buy.com, a 5-megapixel Liquid Image Explorer Series 302 Underwater Digital Camera Mask for $80 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Buy.com itself. Just like Amazon, Buy.com is a marketplace and they have a variety of featured sellers, some of them you may be very familiar with (Adorama, OneCall, etc), some not so much. Just like when buying from 3rd-party sellers at Amazon, be sure to investigate thoroughly any 3rd party sellers you have not heard of before.

SonyStyle fans get up to $300 in statement credit (HOT for Sony fanboys)

If you are a "Sony fanboy" this is a super HOT Deal for you, assuming you are planning to make SonyStyle purchases in the next few weeks. With the Sony Card you can get up to $300 in credit card credits based on your total purchases. You have to jump aboard before June 9 in order to be part of this promotion.

Be sure to check the aforementioned link for complete details, but essentially you spend $3300+ and get $300 back in credit card statement credits, which is as good as cash in terms of paying your credit card bills. That's a 9% return on your purchase, in addition to the regular credit card rewards you earn. What else can get you a guaranteed 9% return these days? :)

From what we understand by reading the promotional page, you earn a $100 statement credit for each one of these activities:

+ spend $299 or more at SonyStyle.com using this credit card during the first 45 days your account is open - must buy at SonyStyle.com

+ charge an additional $1500+ to your Sony credit card during your first three months - these can be any purchases anywhere - groceries, coffee, utilities, anything

+ charge an additional $1500+ to your Sony credit card during your first six months - these can be any purchases anywhere - groceries, coffee, utilities, anything

So, to summarize, you can get $300 back on your credit card statement by spending $300+ at Sony Style, and $3000+ in general purchases, after of course following the guidelines, terms and conditions of this promotion.

Even if you are not a Sony fan-boy, this is a hot deal, assuming there's you want to buy $300+ worth of Sony Style products in a single transaction. In other words, think of these as FREE, since you will receive $300 in statement credits!

For complete details, check the SonyStyle promotional pages.

(MAYBE) Free shipping returns at Calumet Photo (orders $100 or more)

We couldn't get this promotion to work, even though it came directly from Calumet. The shopping cart page shows a shipping fee if the order is over $100. We have not completed a checkout so we don't know if it changes there. Regardless, this should not be showing a S&H fee if the promotion is working as it was supposed to. We are waiting to hear from Calumet.

And frankly, we are getting tired of all these retailers sending out promotions that are not working as expected out of the gate.

Original post: The free shipping promotion returns at Calumet Photo. All qualifying orders of $100 or more will get free standard shipping. These must be shipped to the 48-contiguous continental states. There is NO coupon to enter, no magic code, just clicking through will automagically get you free shipping and handling.

The promotion is good until July 31st, so be sure to bookmark this page (here is the permalink) for quick reference at a later date.

Free 4gb Trascend SDHC (frustration-free) with Casio cameras

Amazon.com is having a promotion that ends on June 21st, 2009 that gets you a free 4gb Transcend SDHC memory card that comes in frustration-free packaging (no more fighting the shrinkwrap) with the purchase of select Casio Exilim digital camera models.

The card on its own goes for around $11. The cameras eligible for the promotion are:
+ Casio EX-FC100 black or white [reviews]
+ Casio EX-FS10 blue, black or red
+ Casio EX-F1 (still selling at $1000 though)
+ Casio EX-FH20 - currently at $440

Please note that the cameras must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com itself, not by any of the many 3rd party sellers selling there in order to get the free 4gb memory card.

Free shipping on 100+ digital cameras at Best Buy

Thanks to our one our readers, Brandon (website) for this tip! Best Buy is offering free shipping on 100+ digital cameras, in addition to discounts of 5% to 15% (from their regular prices) for the whole week. There is no coupon to enter, the cameras with free shipping are indicated in each camera's profile page and the discounts factored in when you check the price. You can also filter cameras by various criteria using the left-side of their website. The D200 body only has been discounted again, but it's at $680, $80 more than the low price of $600 we saw a few weeks ago.

And a quick tip so you can quickly find out the "add to cart" price. From the above page, click on the "See price in cart" button, right below the red SALE button on the right side of the screen. This shows the price in a pop-up window, so you don't have to go the shopping cart every time you check an individual camera. And don't close their price-popup window until you are done. Each time you click "add to cart" it moves to the foreground. This saves you an extra click and window-switching. In other words, it's faster to check prices this way.

(EXPIRED) Free 2-day shipping with select cameras at Amazon

As part of their Mother's day promotion, Amazon is offering free 2-day shipping with a handful of popular and recent models. We have a detailed breakdown of this deal at the main blog, so be sure to check it out!

We try to avoid duplicate work, so we are not reposting it here. It makes it a lot easier to post updates, fixes, and such when we only have to update something once.

Our Canon rebate breakdown is falling behind, it will be posted either late tonight or on Tuesday. Rebate breakdowns are time-consuming and painful, which is why there is a delay :-)

Pentax announces instant rebates on K2000 and X70

The Imaging Insider has the details of a new nine day instant rebate program for the Pentax X70 superzoom and the K2000 kit with the DAL 18-55 lens. The impact of the rebate at stores that sell at list prices will be obvious, but we will have to monitor and wait and see what effect it will have on prices at discounters such as Amazon.

PS: Instant Rebates, from the consumer perspective, are already factored in the price by the time you pay. You do not have to mail anything in.
