The new weekly ad sneak peak at Office Depot reveals that the company will be having a clearance sale on digital cameras at the Office Depot stores during the shopping week of March 17-23 in 2013. The teaser in their weekly ad online says:
"Save up to 75% off original price on clearance digital cameras. While supplies last. No rainchecks. Selection varies by location."
Prices and availability will likely vary from store to store. Keep in mind Office Depot brick and mortar stores typically carries point and shoot cameras, and maybe a couple of interchangeable lens cameras. I recall seeing Canon D-Rebels and Nikon 1-System CX cameras, but again, things may vary from store to store.
Fro the shopping week of March 10 through 16 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar store, you can find a coupon in their weekly ad (printed or on their website) that gives you a 20% off discount on the current (at the time) prices of clearance and demo digital cameras. Selection and availability may vary from Staples store to Staples store. If you don't have the weekly ad, you can load their weekly ad or app on your smartphone and show the coupon code to the Staples cashier. Availability YMMV...
IF you are a fan of coupon-matching, you can also try to get other local stores to match the coupon offer, but this is a very YMMV endeavor...
If you are a fan of camera bags and cases, for the shopping week of February 8-14, 2013 at Fry's brick and mortar stores and their websites, Fry's has a camera bag clearance sale (bottom half of the ad), featuring bags and cases from National Geographic, Manfrotto, Tamrac, Vanguard and Ape... The going out of business sale at the remaining Ritz/Wolf brick and mortar stores continues with higher percentages. You can find which stores have not yet closed by searching by city or by zipcode at the Ritz website. Different fates await different stores as they close down. Some are taken over by other local or regional companies, some are shutdown for good.
On the website front, the RitzCamera.com family of websites will re-open on November 1st, 2012 under new management.
If you are currently near or live near a Ritz or Wolf brick and mortar store, there is a national store-closing/store-liquidation sale under way. Different stores may shutdown at different times, so you may want to check them out in case they have any potentially interesting deals. Ritz/Wolf were authorized dealers, so there shouldn't be any issues with warranties. However, since the stores are closing, you won't be able to return the items.
Fall is here and KEH Camera is having a fall clearance sale good for this weekend with a 17% discount on a number of items. Details through the KEH blog.
Starting today, per an email from the Ritz camera customer emailing list, Ritz and Wolf brick and mortar stores have began a liquidation sale starting today. You can find the remaining stores using the store locator page for Ritz and Wolf. The only exception are five stores that will remain open and are now under new management. As usual when shopping at clearance/liquidation sales, be sure to consider the trade-offs.
This is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) brick and mortar clearance sale at Staples brick and mortar stores. The Kodak Z990 superzoom is on clearance for around $100. This is clearance, limited to in-stock quantities only. The camera is not available at the Staples website. As you may recall recalling, Kodak has exited the digital camera business, but warranties will be honored they said.
For the shopping week of April 20-26, 2012, at Fry's brick and mortar stores, the digital camera clearance continues. Some of these may be open-box, some may be demos! Supplies and availability will likely vary from store to store. The Fry's web ad mentions the Pentax K-r for $300 (including two-lens kits) and a variety of Sony Alpha DSLR L-kits (A33L for $300, A230L for $180, A290L for $200, A390L for $300; also A560, A580 and A55 but they are $488+). Again, please note some of these may be open-box or demos. As far as I can tell, these are good in-store only. YMMV depending on your local store(s).
If you are a Staples Rewards member, logon to your account and go to the "Coupon Wallet" section (link is on the left side of the page). They have two camera-related coupons that expire on April 21, 2012: 20% off clearance cameras, and 30% off Kodak clearance cameras. Both coupons are good in-store only. Limit 1 camera purchased with each coupon. You can print the individual coupons from there. As usual with brick and mortar inventory, prices and availability may vary from store to store and region to region.
Office Max brick and mortar stores are having a clearance sale on older P&S digital cameras. Availability and potentially prices may vary from store to store, as sometimes clearance prices are up to a store manager's discretion. Included in the clearance models was the Olympus FE-4020 for under $20. Again, please note brick and mortar clearance sales are vary YMMV depending on store and region.
If you are interested in photography books, BookCloseouts.com has a clearance sale with a number of books priced under $5. Also part of the clearance sale are older DSLR guides (eg Nikon D90 for $3), and Field Guides (eg Canon G11, Sony A700). Adjust the search keywords and search for your favorite subjects or authors for more! Free shipping if the total of your order is $35+.
UPDATE (8/23/11 1:42pm EST): HP is no longer accepting emails for Touchpad stock notification updates. Demand has decidedly exceeded supply.
UPDATE (8/22/11 7:50pm EST): The latest updates from HP's social media Bryna say that even the email notification page is experiencing slowness and that Canada has ran out of Touchpads :(
UPDATE (8/22/11 7:23pm EST): A number of people in the mega thread are reporting that their Barnes and Noble are getting cancelled.
For play-by-play updates check Twitter and the Slick Deals avalanche.
Please note HP cancelled the TouchPad line. Please also note that there is unprecedented interest in this liquidation sale and almost all the online retailers out there are not equipped to handle this madness, so expect all sorts of issues when ordering, from shopping carts virtually flipping over to cancelled orders and anything in-between. YMMV!
Previous (now out-of-stock) updates after the jump...

As of a 7:13pm EST check, according to the HP Social Media manager on Twitter they are out of stock even though the website has not been updated yet! If you want to get it, here are a couple of places to check: the massive thread at Slick Deals (almost 13,000 posts!) and the Twitter #HPTouchPad hash-tag.
The HP Touchpad liquidation sale at the HP Small Business store currently shows the 16GB model for $100 and the 32GB model for $150! Please note HP has cancelled the whole TouchPad/Palm line earlier in the week, so you would be buying an end-of-line product! Please also note that due to the volatile nature of liquidation sales the usual shopping/check-out/shipping process may not be as smooth as with regular orders.
PS: A team of developers are working to port Android for the Touchpad.
The Barnes and Noble website has a summer clearance sale going on. When you drill down the categories, you will find a small number (around 20) of photography books on clearance, ranging from $3 to $13. These are books with photography, not books on technique/skills/gear. Shipping is free if the total of your order is $25+ in qualifying items.
If you are a Barnes and Noble member, shipping is free regardless of the purchase amount for items sold by B&N itself. With a $25/year membership, you get free S&H for online orders and 10% off brick-and-mortar purchases, including purchases at the B&N Cafe. Digital items (such as ebooks), electronics (such as the Nook), gift cards and some other items are not eligible for the 10% off discount. New members or members who renew their B&N membership going forward also receive a $25 off discount on the NookColor or a $10 off discount on the Nook Touch.
The Microsoft Store (online) has just launched a computer clearance sale currently featuring six different computer models, half desktops, half laptops, from Dell, HP and ASUS.
As of a 7/4/11 check, these have ended! If you are interested in a PC (Windows), there is a computer clearance at the Microsoft Store (online store), featuring Dell, HP, Sony and Samsung computers. Due to time-constraints we cannot review-check and price-check each item, so that part is DIY. (to see all available choices, click on the S button there).
