Best Buy (online and B&M stores) will price-match some of the internets starting March 3

Starting March 3 in 2013, Best Buy online and brick and mortar stores will be price-matching prices local retailers along with some of the major internet online sellers. For the brick and mortar stores, you have to ask for the price match and provide online proof of the pricing and you have 15 days to do it. This Best Buy hopes will end "showrooming". Not all the details have been revealed yet. Some of what is known at Bloomberg and Engadget and The Verge which mentions that 19 retailers will be price-matched online including Amazon, Apple, Crutchfield and Walmart.

Febr 17-23: 8.5x11 photo paper free after online rebate (limit 2)

For the brick and mortar shopping week of February 17 to 23 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 50pk of Staples brand double sided photo paper for free after submitting an online rebate (EasyRebate). You pay $15 plus tax (if applicable) in-store, submit the rebate online using just numbers from your cash register receipt,and after a few weeks you will receive $15 back. When you submit the rebate online, you can chose whether you will receive your $15 back as a postcard check in the mail or a gift card (VISA or Staples gift card). Historically, for this particular photo paper, PayPal is not an option. Limit two for the Febr 17-23 week. With this being President's Day weekend, and the items being free after rebate, they may sell out faster than usual.

For the shopping week of February 3-9, 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 60pk of Staples branded 4x6 photo paper for $1 after an Easy Rebate. Typically for this photo paper, the Easy Rebate options include PayPal, which is the easiest one. The PayPal fee is paid by the rebate company, you receive the exact rebate amount as promised. Sales-tax (as with all rebate promotions) is not refunded. This promotion is limit four for the Febr 3-9, 2013 week.

Staples B&M prints: 11x14 for $7, 18x24 border prints for $10

A new email from the Staples customer emailing list is promoting two print options for the brick and mortar stores, $7 for a 11" x 14" print on HP Photo Gloss or Semi-Gloss paper and $10 for a 18" x 24" border print (border print = big border so multiple people can write or sign it - eg for birthdays, welcome-back or goodbye events, etc).

25% back in Rewards at Staples B&M (ends 1/24/13)

If you check the latest emails from Staples or check the Coupon Wallet in your Staples Rewards account, there is a new brick and mortar coupon. The coupon gets you 25% back in Rewards for purchases made at Staples brick and mortar stores by the close of business on Thursday 1/24/13. Digital cameras and printers are not in the list of excluded products! Excluded are Epson inks. I don't know if this is combinable with the 30% off coupon on clearance and discontinued cameras we mentioned earlier. Even though you are getting rewards back, you need to use this coupon, and Staples typically allows only one coupon per item. You may want to experiment or ask the store employees if you want to attempt a double stack.

Please note this is 25% back in Staples Rewards. This is not cashback and not an instant discount. Be sure to read up on the Staples Rewards program if you are not familiar with it.

Jan 20-26/2013: Free after Easy Rebate: 50pk Staples 8.5x11 double sided matter photo paper

For the shopping week of January 20-26 in 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 50pk of Staples branded 8.5x11 double sided matte photo paper for FREE after an Easy Rebate. You pay $15 plus tax in-store, submit the Easy Rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive $15 back. You can select how to receive the $15 when you submit the rebate online. In previous offers of this paper, the options were a prepaid VISA gift card or a check by mail (postcard-thick check, it won't fit into ATMs - might be of interest if you do ATM banking only - you can also deposit it at the branch, or by mail, or using your bank's mobile or desktop apps or using the bank's drop off boxes). This is a limit two for the Jan 20-26/2013 shopping week.

Also good during the Jan 20-26/2013 week is a Buy-1-Get-1-Free promotion on Epson photo paper. This is a straight up offer. No coupons, no rebates, no rewards. Just buy two and pay for one. That's it.

Meanwhile, for this shopping week (Jan 13-19, 2013), there is a $1 after rebate promotion on 60pks of 4x6 Staples branded photo paper.

Jan 13-19: 60pk Staples 4x6 photo paper for $1AR (limit 4)

For the Staples brick and mortar shopping week of January 13-19, 2013, you can get a 60pk of Staples brand Gloss Photo Plus photo paper for $1 after a $9 Easy Rebate. You pay $10 + tax in-store. Then submit the rebate online, and receive $9 back as a postcard check (or with other redemptions options available when you submit the rebate). This promotion is limit 4 for the Jan 13-19, 2013 shopping week. So if you want to max out, you buy four 60pks, you pay $40 + tax in-store, submit the rebates online, and receive $36 back after a few weeks.

Meanwhile, ending at the close of business on Saturday January 12, 2013 at Staples brick and mortar is a limit 4 rebate promotion on 50pk of 8.5x11 Staples brand double sided matte photo paper for $1 after a $14 Easy Rebate. Same rebate routine as above.

The promotional period is typically the Sunday open to Saturday close brick and mortar shopping week and if you use a lot of photo paper, by taking advantage of these promotions, you can stock up without breaking the bank. As usual, if you are not familiar with how these work, be sure to research them and google them. Do not assume! A lot of the rebate problems happen because people assume this works similarly to something else they might be familiar with, but each rebate and rewards program is different! So be sure to research them first if you are not familiar with these!

Jan 6-12: 100% Rewards on Energizer Max AA Alkalines

For the shopping week of January 6-12 in 2013, Office Depot will be having another crazy 100% Rewards promotion that includes 24pks of Energizer Max single-use Alkaline AA batteries. Based on the front page ad of the Weekly Ad for the Jan 6-12/2013 ad posted at the Office Depot website, only AA batteries are participating (no AAA this time). This is the usual crazy Office Depot rewards: limit 2 per item per member PER DAY during the week of Jan 6-12/2013. So if you want to completely max out, you can get 14 24pks of batteries, pay $266 + tax in-store, and around May 2013, you will receive $266 back in rewards.

Please note: you don't get cashback. You get rewards, which are similar to store credit and you must spend them within 3 months of issuance. So when deciding how many batteries to buy, it is a good idea to also plan how you will spend your rewards before you buy the batteries. Office Depot has P&S cameras (very few iLCs), iPods, laptops, tablets (no iPads), printers, office supplies, etc.

Jan 6-12: 50pk Staples 8.5x11 DS matte photo paper for $1 AR (L4)

For the brick and mortar stores shopping week of Jan 6-12, 2013, at Staples brick and mortar stores, you can get a 50pk of double-sided Staples brand 8.5" x 11" matte photo supreme photo paper for $1 after a $14 Easy Rebate. You pay $15 + tax in-store, then submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive $14 back. In previous iterations of this particular promotion, the your-money-back options were Postcard check by mail or prepaid Visa gift card or Staples gift card. Limit 4 with this promotion during the Jan 6-12, 2013 shopping week. If you want to research the photo paper ahead of time, search for SKU 564121 at the Staples website.

Meanwhile, good until the close of business on Saturday January 5, 2013 is the free-after-Easy-Rebate promotion on 60pk Staples brand 4x6 photo paper at Staples brick and mortar stores.

You pay $10 + tax in-store, submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks you receive $10 back (choices vary, but typically include at least one of postcard-check, PayPal, Visa gift card, Staples gift card).

Batteries: 100% after rewards continue this week at all three office chains

If you frequently shop at office supply chains and you want to stock up on single-use alkaline AA and AAA batteries, the 100% after Rewards promotions on Duracells at Staples and Office Max and Energizers at Office Depot continue for this shopping week as well. This covers the period of brick and mortar store opening on Sunday December 16 until close of business of Saturday December 22, 2012. Each one of the three stores has its own rules and terms on their Rewards programs, so be sure to read up on them if you are not sure how they work. All are Rewards, not cash! They are similar to store credit but you have to spend them within three months after they are issued.

Energizer 100% Rewards continue December 9 to 15, 2012

If you are hoarding AA/AAA single-use batteries to prepare for the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse, Office Depot will be continuing their 100% back in Rewards on Energizer AA and AAA single-use batteries, Sunday December 9 until the close of business on Saturday December 15, 2012. The same rules, 2 per SKU per day per member, for a maximum of (2+2) times 7 = 28 sets of batteries and $340+ in rewards. Sales tax not refunded. The promotion is also good for this week. Check the Batteries category for more on the 100% battery specials. Please note each one of the rewards programs of the three office supply chains offering these specials are DIFFERENT! Make sure you understand their pros and cons before jumping in! This is NOT cashback! All apologies for repeating all these warnings, I am trying to make sure the speed-readers don't ignore these!

Dec 9-15: 100% Duracells, $1AR 4x6 photo paper

For the brick and mortar store shopping week of December 9-15, 2012 (open on Sunday until close of business Saturday), the 100%-back-in-Rewards Duracell single-use alkalinke AA/AAA specials continue at both Office Max and Staples. The terms of the promotion are the same, two total (two AA or two AAA or one of each) at each store for the shopping week (Sunday AM until Saturday PM). It is a new promotion every week, so you can continue doing this on a weekly basis. Infact, both stores have this promotion going on this week (ends close of business Saturday Dec 8, 2012) [see previous post for those].

Meanwhile at Staples B&M stores, for the Dec 9-15 shopping week, you can get a 60pk of Staples brand 4x6 gloss photo plus photo paper for $1 after Easy Rebate. You pay $10 + tax, submit the rebate online, and after a few weeks, you receive $9 back. This is limit four for the week, so if you want to max out, you pay $40 + tax, submit the rebates online, and after a few weeks you receive $36 back. The receive-back options include at least one option of these: cashback-check delivered as a postcard in the mail (too thick for ATMs), prepaid Visa gift card, prepaid Staples gift card, PayPal. While submitting the rebate online, check to see which options are available to you. You must select a different option if you don't want whichever one Staples marks as the default.

If you are in the Staples emailing list, check your emails. One of their coupons offers 30% off digital cameras, including clearance and display models. Vivitar cameras are excluded (as if!). This brick and mortar shopping week (Dec 2-8, 2012), you can stock up on single-use AA/AAA alkalines after 100% rewards. We already mentioned the Duracell specials at Staples and Office Max but there are also specials at Office Depot. They are offering a crazy promotion: 100% on Energizer Max single-use AA and AAA batteries, 16-packs, limit two per sku per member per day. Yes, Office Depot offers two of each, not two total. Dec 2-8 at Office Max B&M: 100% back on Duracell AA/AAA single-use

If you like to stock up on Duracell AA/AAA single-use batteries, you are in luck! In addition to Staples, Office Max brick and mortar stores too will offer these batteries for 100% back in Rewards. The limit is two for the brick and mortar week of Sunday December 2 until the close of business Saturday 8, 2012. Only the designated products are eligible, not everything Duracell. Office Max offers 20pks while Stales offers 16pks. The limit is two for the week (two AA or two AAA or one each). If you end up getting carried away by the deals and get more than you need, you can always donate them at a local toy-drive, school, charity, non-profit, etc.

Dec 2-8 at Staples B&M: 50pk double-sided 8.5x11 and Duracells

+ one is a Rebate promotion, the other is a Rewards promotion. These are two different programs with different rules and strategies on how to make the most of them. Be sure to read up on them if you are not familiar. Do not assume!
