LED Lighting primer ebook on sale (general interest; not photography specific)

If you are interested in learning more or understanding more about LED lighting in general, the deal of the day at the O'Reilly Shop is the LED Lighting primer book. This is not a photography lighting book. It covers LEDs from a general interest perspective, but since LED lights are becoming more popular with photographers, it might be of interest at a technical and general level.

Now the best price on the book, depends on what format you want and whether you want DRM or not. The O'Reilly Shop e-books are DRM-free. Not only that, but O'Reilly is also happy with lending and reselling their e-books as long as one does this ethically. Their best value is the e-book plus printed copy for $7.69.

If you want to pay the lowest price possible, and you are okay with DRM, you can get it for $3.77 for the Amazon Kindle.

$10 credit for select Kindle e-Textbooks (includes Photoshop/imaging ebooks)

Amazon is running a limited time promotion that gives you a $10 credit towards the purchase of select Kindle e-Textbooks. This promotion is only good for electronic textbooks, not for paper textbooks. This is good only for select e-textbooks, not for every ebook. Be sure to pay attention to the details of this promotion as it is an intermediate level deal, it is not a simple add-to-cart-and-you-are-done!

1. Enter the promo code to your Amazon account - see complete details. You must redeem this by the end of day January 9, 2012.

2. Only e-textbooks that show this on their individual pages qualify:

Kindleetextbookpromotion

3. If you are looking for some ideas, check the Top Selling Kindle e-Textbooks, among them you will find these photography-related eligible e-books: Photoshop CS4: Missing Manual ($6) and The Photoshop Darkroom: Creative Digital Post-Processing for under $3.50. For programmer geeks, there's the Pro Android ($5), and for business geeks, there's the The Six Sigma Black Belt Handbook ($6+)... There are more photography-related e-textbooks in the Top 100, including Joe McNally, David duChemin, Syl Arena, and Scott Kelby...

4. This is a $10 credit, not a $10 off discount, so you can use it on one or more qualifying e-textbooks. The price of the individual e-textbooks does not have to be over $10.

5. You cannot test it before buying, but right after you buy (on your computer), you can view the order receipt to make sure the promotional credit was factored in. If it doesn't work, you can painlessly cancel the order and get a refund at the Manage Your Kindle page. Simply locate the offending e-book, click on "Actions" on the far right side, and select "Return for Refund". Your payment method will be refunded and the ebook will disappear from your collection. A very painless refund process (I requested refunds this way a couple of times before and it is very easy)

Kindle Owners with Prime: Borrow one e-book for FREE per month [includes photography ebooks]

This new special has two pre-conditions: 1) you must have a physical hardware Kindle device, and 2) you must be a paying Amazon Prime member (the $79/year plan). If your answer now (or in the future) is YES, you qualify for this brand new benefit from Amazon:

You can borrow one e-book for free, from a current selection of about 5000 e-books. The rental has no expiration date. You can only have one book out at any time. You can pick a new rental once per month. When you pick a new ebook rental, the previous one expires.(think of it as a Netflix 1-DVD out plan, with a limit of 1 new DVD per month).

You can only borrow and read these books from an actual hardware Kindle device! Amazon has details on their new Kindle Owners' Lending Library page.

The links to books below are so you can check the books and read their reviews. Eligible books will mention this on their individual pages! You can only get the free e-book loans from an actual hardware physical Kindle device!
