As of a Oct-21-2012 recheck, the price has jumped up to the $600+ range... If you are Foveon-curious and don't want to commit a big amount to a Foveon purchase, the Sigma DP1x fixed-lens compact-with-RAW has dropped to $350 at Amazon by Amazon itself. This is an older model that uses the older 1.7x Foveon sensor, not the new APS-C sensor found in the Merrills.
