If you have one of the Kindle with Special Offers device owners, check the latest Special Offers on your Kindle device. One of them is a co-promotion between Amazon and Discover. You must request the offer through the actual Kindle with Special Offers hardware device.

Following the instructions in the ensuing Amazon email, if you make the Discover card your default Kindle 1-Click Payment, and purchase digital content from Amazon (apps, e-books, mp3s, e-software, Audible audiobooks, instant video, etc) using the Discover card as the default 1-Click payment, you will receive a $10 Amazon Gift card within 10 business days. Limit 1 free gift card per customer during this promotion. You must request this promotion on your Kindle with Special Offers device by November 11, 2012. If you don't have a Kindle with Special Offers device, fear not! Since the promotion is good until November 11, 2012, if you buy one before the promotion ends, you can also request this promotion and get the $10 gift card bonus.

If you have a Kindle _without_ Specials Offers, hope is not lost! You can temporarily activate Special Offers at the Kindle Manage Your Devices page (shortcut url: amazon.com/myk). The original Kindle Fire (2011 model) is not eligible for Special Offers but the Kindle e-ink readers and the 2012 Kindle Fires are!

This is essentially a $10 freebie at Amazon if you are a regular Amazon digital content shopper. You can also think of it as a virtual $10 off discount off a new Kindle Paperwhite w/Special Offers which is expected to ship on October 1st, 2012.
