Two-lens kit deals at $530: Pentax K2000 vs Olympus E520
Sure, there's always going to be a newer camera, always selling at list price at first, and then another one and another one and another one. But if you need a camera now, be it your first DSLR or an additional body, or perhaps are interesting in experiment with the K-mount or Four Thirds, there are a two-lens kit offered for each mount for $530 right now!
First up, the storied K-mount offers an affordable entry-point for the bang-for-the-buck photographers with the Pentax K2000 two-lens kit going for $530 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Amazon.com itself! That's right Amazon has it back in-stock! The lenses are both DA-L.
Next up, Four Thirds time, with the Olympus E520 two-lens kit. Not only do you get two lenses, but you also get a bonus 9.4-inch Philips digital picture frame for free. The price is $532 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Amazon.com. In order to get the free Philips picture frame, the camera must also be coming from Amazon.com, not any of the many third-party sellers that do business at the Amazon website.
Each one of the aforementioned camera has a replacement that (as usual) costs more and offers more. On the Pentax side, the Pentax K-x is generating some early excitement, but it costs $750 in a two-lens kit and $650 with the standard 18-55 lens.
Similarly, on the Olympus side, there is the E620 DSLR, which goes for $800 for a two-lens kit and $700 for the standard one-lens kit. And you don't get the free digital picture frame which goes for $200 on its own.
