This is the initial opening price of the camera, which then organically dropped down to $400, and then starting returning close to $500, and then retailers started running out of the camera and we saw price spike up almost as high as the opening price of the Leica D-Lux4 ($700), which by the way is also back in-stock at its opening price. Ever since the Canon S90is was announced and the Panasonic ships from Japan arrived, the LX3 price started going down, slowly but steadily shaving off the limited availability premium.
