Nailed them (sort of): FTC steps in to stop fake UK retailer

The FTC stepped in to stop a fake UK retailer from continuing to deceive customers in the European Union says Web Pro News. While the case is pending, the offenders, which are actually based in California agreed to "stop" this activity until the courts decide.

The offenders, based in California, created a .uk site selling to European customers leading them to think they were a UK site, and also lying about their participation in the "Safe Harbor" program. When the consumers received the products, they discovered their warranty was invalid and they had to pay import/duty fees as well. Outrageous!

I am sorry but what the FTC did is not good enough! A fraud like this needs a "shutdown zero", not a white-glove "stop until".
