Nikon D60 with two-lens kit (both DX VR) = $697

If you are looking for a brand-new-in-box Nikon D60 with the two standard kit lenses bth in DX VR configuration, then you can check out Adorama.com where they are offering this for $697 with free shipping. The two lenses are of course the 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR and the 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED AF-S DX ED VR.

You can save $50 if you get the other D60 two-lens kit, that includes the older 55-200 DX non-VR. But is $50 enough to justify losing the VR functionality on a 55-200 DX lens? We think not, unless of course you already have telephoto VR lenses.

For more on the D60, be sure to check its list of reviews.

Also of note, there are rumors of a D60 replacement being announced next week, and there is also the D5000, which currently is troubled by the service advisory.
