Barnes an Noble launches eBooks, and free eBook reader software for PCs, iPhone and Blackberry
Barnes and Noble has launched a new eBooks section on their website and an eReader software application that goes with it. The supported platforms are computers (PC/Mac), iPhone and Blackberry. Each one of these platforms has its own reader which is free to download and use.
And to celebrate the launch, Barnes and Noble is offering a six-pack of free ebooks, which includes some classics (Mohicans, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice), along with a dictionary.
Currently there are not a lot of eBooks on photography, although some of John Muir's public-domain books are available as free eBook downloads. However, this is something to watch for, not so much for the picture-books, but for the instructional, essay, and biographical camera/photography books.
